Tom Evans named in Unibond League "Dream Team"
« on: December 20, 2009, 04:43:10 PM »

I've picked up a copy of the second edition of the new Non-League 24 magazine, and noticed that they are again naming a Unibond League "Dream Team." More interestingly they've named Tom Evans as its goalkeeper, the only Boston player to make the selection.

Congratrulations to Tom!

I have to say I'm a little suprised though. I think he's made one or two mistakes - particularly in the away games at Burscough and Lowestoft. Maybe I'm being harsh as goalkeeper errors tend to stick in memory than mistakes made by outfield players and Tom has put in a number of good displays in other matches. But if any Boston players were to be picked for a Unibond League Dream team, I would personally have thought Mssrs Pearson, Church and possibly Newsham would have been in front of Evans.

Any views?

On Stats Church wouldn't stand out but there is no doubt he is the driving force behind what in good in the current side.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Lower league keepers do make more mistakes in general,
Hes a decent keeper so well to him,
I would have probably had canners, church and maybe mewsh in there to they have been top notch this season

If any Boston player was going to be in there it wouldnt be Evans for me.

Pearson, Canners and Church have all been better

hes slightly annoying i think he's pulled off a number of quality saves this season , but then he also makes you stand their think how the fu*k did that go in ,eg burscough (away) lowestoft

think its fair to say his weakness is corners

Without being too harsh on him I think he is a weak link in our team. No doubt he was decent in his day but he is past it now. His shot stopping is good but he doesn't command the area as well as he should do. We have looke vunerable from set pieces this season and I can remember him being lobbed from a corner once this year!

Church has been by far our player of the season to date, canners and newsham have been decent too and I would have them in that dream team (especially as nesh is prob one of, if not the, top scorer in the league.

I seen many other keepers in this league make is mistakes just more of them, so in general i do think he his a verry good keeper at this level

Well done to Tom Evans, Church should have made it into the team too.
