Adam Boyes

We once had a player with the same name as Barrows goalscorer today.

Was class under Pinky & Perky and showed signs of being a real prospect.

Then something happened and he couldn't hit a cows arse with a bango.  Now he is banging them in at a level up.

Just saying like.

Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

I think he wanted full-time football so I doubt he would have stayed with us if he had been offered a contract.

The point being that 'we' didn't want him.

He made it clear when he came LCB that it was only until the end of the season and then he would look for a full-time club.

I thought he showed some class but he said when he came that he wanted full-time football so he was not going to stay.  Jase and Canners knew they were not able to build around him and don't agree they didn't know how to manage him.

Adam Boyes has been named as part of the England non-league squad, published in today's non-league paper.

Boyes' position was clear in that he wanted to go full-time and was therefore never going to accept a contract offer from Boston for the current season. I do wonder if we shot ourselves in the foot though by simply releasing him. If we had gone through the motions and offered him a contract which he had then turned down, wouldn't we now be taking his new club Barrow to a tribunal for a compensation payment?

If he was non-contract then no.
