Title: Chester City...
Post by: woad_pilgrim on February 09, 2010, 06:45:50 PM
Surely they can't survive much longer. Having lurched from 1 crisis to another all season, their players have now gone on strike after not being paid for 3 months. See here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_conf/8493550.stm)

They wont make it to the end. the fans boy cott looks well and truly in action.

If the players do decide to play on saturday in the darby game at home against wrexham they be humbled by the mass amout of tickets sold, currently at around a staggering 70 ish.

Aint looking to good for them.

Latest reports are suggesting the police are now threatening a boycott of Saturdays game because of an unpaid invoice, and I don't mean Sting and his mates.

So no police - no match.

From the players point of view, it seems they getting repeated promises of getting their wages only for that broken at the last minute.

Looks like their are going to be more fans in the car park than in the Stadium at the next home game although the BBC are already listing next Sundays derby against Wrexham as OFF.

Things ain't looking good at The Deva.

Actually, no police = no spectators. They can play behind closed doors

If the players haven't been paid after 3 months does this mean their contracts become nul and void and they can leave the club?

They can give notice and the club cant stop them. reading reports 5 players have already done this

Jammy or what.

Confrence have given them 7 days today to...

1. To explain themselfs in regards to the tuesday unable to feild a team. and regards to the close down of the deva stadium due to not paying the police.

2 To give evidence that the club will be able to furfill its fixture list this season.

Doomed i think,

To play they need a ground wich would meen paying the police what is owed before it will be reopened for match days.

Then there is the little issue of Paying players so they come off strike.
Then finding more players as they no longer have the amount needed as big chunks of first team and youth have left the club with more to leave.

Theres only one way out and thats for someone with no brains to pay a pound and buy the club.Wich doesnt look like its gonna happen as the clubs new owner will have to pay around 400k to pay depts.

Whoever decides to buy Chester would have to be a major mentalist of the George Reynolds or Bob Blackburn mould!

Scrolling around the net tells me the amount needed for the debts is not 400k, its 704k. Am i right in thinking the holding company (svj) somehow racked this up since taking over. If i am right thats a hell of a lot in very short time.

The 704k was racked up in about 7 months. You have to remember Mr Vaughams cleaning companys service is very expensive, . reported  118k for a few months work.
