Unsavoury Boston Utd Fan At Solihull
« on: November 07, 2011, 09:39:42 PM »
At Solihull on Saturday I had the misfortune to be standing in the vicinity of a Boston Utd supporter who made me ashamed to be associated with someone that wears a replica Boston Utd shirt.

I don't know the persons name but he was short, about 5ft 6, very overweight and was wearing a white, long-sleeved Boston Utd shirt. I've seen him at away games before but have never spoken to him.

During the second half he stood next to the Boston dug-out and constantly hurled abuse at the players and officials. This included Lee Canoville. At one point I heard him use at least eight swear words in one sentence, before preceeding to shout 'nig-nog' at the Japanese ref. All of this was in ear-shot of the Boston United bench. At one point the Boston physio spoke to him to try and calm him down but god knows what some of the others thought. I just hope they don't think all Boston fans are like him.

I don't know the 'supporter's' name but I am sure he is known to regular travelling fans. If any steward / police had been in the vicinity there is no way he would have been allowed to stay in the ground.

It was a rubbish game on Saturday and we hardly created a chance but I don't really mind as that's football. If we won every week we would be in the Premier League (providing we had an all-seater stadium).

'nig-nog'

:-\  Sweet Jesus, it's even a poor attempt at racism.

So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Daniel, I was also there on Sat. Agree 100%. He was a disgrace. I think his name is Martin. He even went into a swearing tirade when Canners came off & Ward on, suggesting we didn't need a defender on but a striker. Yet it was obvious to anyone properly watching the game that Canners tweaked his hamstring!

I have been given the name, but won't shame yet as things may go a bit further - I hope.

I didn't go but a friend caught the imbecile on camera and sent me a photo, along with some choice quotes, including the brazen racism shouted at the ref.

I mean, seriously. What kind of absolute fecking tosswit of a MORON even THINKS like that, let alone happily yells it out loud in the vicinity of other people?

Did anyone other than the physio (was it Katie?) challenge him?

people like that are not true football fans. They are there just to cause trouble and should be escorted out of the ground. Seems the ref. had a very good game.

Put the photo online Pete then we will all know who the t****r is and can look out for him in the future.

So reading between the lines he wasn't given a lift home due to his behaviour ?
I hope people like this are spoken to by someone as it's not acceptable. I was behind the goal we were attacking second half so didn't hear this. All supporters were frustrated watching the second half but it makes the afternoon even worse listening to some foul mouthed racist  halfwit berate your own team.
We should start to name and shame and make people think about what they are saying. BTW The ref had a superb game despite what the new Jimmy Hill thought.
