Right another music thread.

While looking for music for the other thread I came across Sproston Green by The Charlatans.

Which turns out to be about a girl/place near Nantwich.  If I'd know that I'd have made a slight detour and had a random picture with a sign of Sproston Green instead of watching a dire Wolves game in a dire pub in Nantwich.

So are there any music related treats for us in store in the Conf North? Any famous bands from Droylsden or songs about a phone box on Stalybridge Rd or something?

Well I was on a train with some Bury fans who broke off from their quiz (asking questions such as "Bruce Grobbelaar played one game for Bury. Who scored against him?") to burst out into a chorus of "Alfreton oh Alfreton" to the tune of Jimmy Webb's "Galveston" as we stopped at said station. Does that count?
