Going to need a left back, 3 midfielders and a striker.

Byrne left Kidderminister and Sotona transfer listed by Doncaster worth considering.  A Cully favourite Adam Marriott released by Bromley.

Not taking anything away from the brilliant play off performances but we did struggle in a lot of games this season in the league. It’s a huge step up so even if we kept all those players offered contracts I think we would need five or six top quality signings to be competitive in the National League.

Yes it's a big step up. Going to need 5 or 6 players that are good National League starting 11 players to come in.

And the retained list is out https://www.bostonunited.co.uk/news/squad-update--retained-list-2851152.html

Only 4 players released none of which are a suprise as none started matches towards the end of the season. 3 definitely staying - Hazel, Ward & Bostwick. Great Bostwick is staying, lots of experience and been brilliant. Gregory the big one for me - would love him to stay. Gregory, Rowe and Knowles the 3 a bigger club may have been after. Knowles and Rowe under 24 so another club would have to pay a fee for them which would make them harder for another club to take, Gregory just over 24 so could go on a free. I should think most that get offered terms will stay so only 5 or 6 new players to find.

A huge step up, Kidderminister back down after winning the playoffs last season if we don't strengthen we'll struggle to stay up too. Got to keep our best players and add quality to them. Also happened to Kings Lynn coming straight back down when Culverhouse took them up, hopefully he gained from that experience of National League and will do better with us next season. It's tough for teams promoted out of this league to stay up and it's generally the bigger / richer clubs that get promoted out of this league that stay up. We've also seen the likes of Chorley, Telford, Alfreton, Guisley, Chester in recen years go up, not had the resources to spend big and come straight down again. It's going to be tough next season but I feel we're in a better position now than our previous failed playoff  seasons.

Plenty of assists too. Retaining Knowles has has to be high up on the managers to do list next week along with Gregory Bostwick Rowe Mills Richards

What a day, what a brilliant all round team performance to get the win today.

Didn't let heads drop when going one down.

Fantastic for the Chairman, management and players for making this happen. The team have finally done it after working towards this promotion for the last 14 years at this level. The move to Hybrid this season has paid off, what a team. Big step up for next season, get our key players - Gregory, Rowe, Bostwick, Knowles, Richards signed up for next season and will need to add a couple of quality players to stay up.

after backing the manager this season with the expense of going to hybrid etc.

Or not backing him at all, if you believe Andy over on Twitter this morning!

I do think we should have tried to hit the ground running with a Hazel type player sooner, but I've no complaints about the chairman's backing this season. The small squad we've sometimes struggled with this season has been solely down to the management not quite getting things right with the u23 model, and this is by their own admission.

Yes we have different opinions there, personally I think the chairman has done a good job and his stance tends to be one of giving the manager a competitive budget with a budget that is working towards the club spending within its means on what it generates, which I admire. Moving to hybrid may take a year or so to get right, the u23s on one hand not quite worked and will see how they change that for next season however we did get Dylan Hill who was signed as a u23 who is now a key first team player. Chairman could have stayed with part time players to keep costs down however I think it's good progress to move towards having a better chance of getting that promotion and hopefully within the next few years becoming an established team in the league if we get the promotion.

The money for Hazel was proberbly there at the start of the season, management did say at the time it took a few weeks to get the deal over the line and waiting for the right player like Hazel within the budget we have. It's been quite refreshing the approach this season of getting the right players in even if we have to wait rather than the revolving door with twice the players used over the season.

If we beat Scunthorpe, would we be the home team in the final?

Unfortunatley not, only way that could happen would have been in Curzon won last night and then won their semi final v Brackley. As highest placed team is at home. Curzon lost to Chorley on pens last night. If we beat Scunthorpe will be Brackley or Chorley away.

Scunthorpe now reporting 6500 tickets sold in total including 1400 from Boston, incredible ticket sales. Feels like it should have been the final with those ticket sales from both sides.

Scunthorpe saying 5500 tickets sold already, over 800 from Boston.

Could break the National League North Attendance record (which I'm told is 7920). Half of the gate money for an attendance likely to be around 8000 a nice pay back for the club and chairman, after backing the manager this season with the expense of going to hybrid etc.

Buzzing after that. Resilient performance away from home and lads kept their heads for the pens with cams save at the crucial time. Huge game at Scunthorpe Saturday!

Not the best game to watch typical hoof ball from Heath but our defenders stood up to it.
