The B-Ark / Re: Premier League / Racism
« on: October 31, 2012, 07:04:02 AM »
Let's mic the refs for everyone to hear - the language from players would then be heard - it would be embarrassing for all to hear.
The ref was verbally abused throughout the game, as with most games.

I run football events and frequently referee. Interestingly when I organise an annual charity football event, I ask the players to refrain from swearing as children are present - there has been one swear word in 5 years. Yet the many of the same players play in leagues where they swear at each other and verbal abuse refs as a matter of course. Go figure.
Similarly, in European matches Chelsea et al, rarely give any abuse to refs as he waves them away and does not tolerate such 'discussions'.
The culture of the premier league appears to be different - certain things are accepted, it's time this was questioned.

Other sports do not suffer this from this disease and are just as physical if not more so. They are always going to be exceptions involving violent conduct, but the culture of behaviour on football pitches has to change.

Whilst we are at it, the cultue on the terraces needs to be addressed to.

Sponsored him for all of half a dozen games before he left.

Only man in the team who could get past an opponent - but yes was not the fittest player.

Tech question:

Can you only download an ebook onto the kindle rather than an iPad?

Evans is a most unpleasant man in every way possible.

Shame his actions weren't reported to the police.

Every cloud though ..... bet the Rotherham team are pleased not to have him around the dressing room and touchline for a while.  :bunny

A prediction league is exactly what it says on the tin. You predict the score!

You choose a winner, therefore there is a loser or of course you can predict a draw.

It's a competition, so you do your best to get the prediction right, which means at the minute you probably wouldn't choose an away win for BUFC - take pride in your prediction, but nobody takes pride in the loss.

JL's record since he took over, wouldn't have anyone put their last £10 on a BUFC win, let's be honest ...

Play off contention, or crowds will drop off dramatically.

If the club don't aspire to make the play offs what is the point?

I live in a country where the native population are outnumbered by about 6:1.
It's obviously a very contentious issue.
The government's immigration policy is simple, you enter the country with either a tourist visa or a residency visa, only obtainable when you have a job. When that job no longer exists for you, you have to leave.
The system has its merits for sure.
Though does not stop racism etc, but all immigrants make a positive contribution to the economy.

The B-Ark / Re: Fans Forum!

Lord Lucan

Happy Clapper or Moaner be.... not everyone could get to the forum. Many fans don't live in Boston.

Be nice if a synopsis was available or a summary of some sort.

The need to move is looming large and nothing concrete yet.

At least there are vertical stripes, not the horizontals - never flatter the average football fan!

Been to the Darlo stadium - more name changes than I can recall - fantastic, but wholly inappropriate for Darlo.

One entire side is closed for matches, an away end and the other two sides to scatter 2000+ home fans. Had a row to myself - soulless even with 1000+ Leeds fans there.

Where have we got the money from for a no.2?

The bypass conspiracy theory ....

Opening up Boston in terms of better transport links has been stopped (or never seriously promoted) as this might encourage industry to locate here, thus competing for local labour and driving the price of said labour up. Better to restrict employment opportunities to get labour cheap to serve the agricultural industry - piece work and minimum hourly rates.

So goes the theory, as verified by the drinkers of the private club near the central park for many a year.   :dan

« on: April 23, 2012, 08:14:45 AM »
I think this is a argument to nowhere....

Some chairman choose good managers, some don't as they sack their own appointees!

On the face of it, Chairmen especially many new ones probably have little or no experience in football, football management, coaching or appointing people into those positions, so their knowledge is no one better/worse than the average punter - which they were a few weeks prior to becoming chairmen!

Many chairmen have experience is making executive appointments but football wise knowledge may be limited.

In reality its all pretty irrelevant as Chairman you pay the wages you get to make the decisions, simple as ....

Fans live with those decisions, or decide otherwise.

The B-Ark / Re: David Newton - Saint or Sinner?
« on: April 22, 2012, 06:07:05 PM »
What a ridiculous topic to suggest anyone thinks DN is a sinner - or too link criticism of the team's performance to the chairman.

Don't think anybody doubts David Newton's place in history at this club, his continued commitment and his desire to see BUFC put onto a sensible financial footing.

However, the season has been a disappointment in many ways and constructive criticism of managers and players is part of the game. Because DN appointed the manager does not mean that JL is above criticism and cannot be held accountable by supporters and the chairman himself.
Not every decision(esp football ones)  the chairman makes is going to be either right or necessarily popular, he'd be the first to admit that. But he is the chairman and gets to make those decisions, that's the way it goes. You pays your money ....etc etc
