His father went to school with my father in their younger days when they lived in Swineshead and was a keen United fan.

You can see their manager`s reaction and the goals here on Darlington`s website.

Can anyone tell me why we signed Bastock as one of the management team? Seems to have done nothing to improve our defence tactics. Is he just a waste of money?

Seems to me our defence was weakened when Scott Garner left the club.

I agree with Mr Pilgrim. Their keeper was well off his line for those penalties and they should have been retaken. Ridiculous decisions from the officials. Even Rhys pointed it out to the ref at the end but to no avail. Why didn`t he bring it to the ref`s attention earlier? Having said that, Basford seemed more up for it than us and deserved their success. Good luck to them in the next round. They are gonna need it !

Hope Shiels is OK. We are getting low on our striking force. Hope we get some loanees soon before we meet the big boys. Did you see that Altrincham are stuttering in the National League now that they are full time?

Do we know anything about them?

We appear to have lost the ability to play one touch football. When I was a teenager many moons ago we played a lot of five a side football to improve our close passing.

Can`t we persuade Garner to have one more season for us. He may have received his fair share of bookings but he wouldn`t stand no nonsense from those around him.

The B-Ark / Semi Final Play Off v AFC Fylde
« on: May 16, 2022, 04:37:01 PM »
If anyone is interested, I`ve posted some of my photos on my Facebook page. Just go onto Facebook and look for my name "Edwin Killick". There`s not many of the actual match because their manager insisted on standing in front of where I was sat and blocked my view for most of the game. At least the celebrations after the match were better.

The last time I felt such elation was when we thrashed Derby County 6-1. Mind you, I was only a youngster then. On the pitch after the Fylde game, I heard one steward saying "We had better get this lot off the pitch." to which the other steward said "Nar, let them enjoy this moment". Interesting to note that their MOM was their goalkeeper. Ours had hardly anything to do in the second half which is a credit to the team. Well done to all concerned. Good luck for the York game.
