It was my first day in long trousers. My mates and I sat in the girders of the York Street stand, which was completed later that season.
Below us was an elderly drunk Grantham supporter, with pockets full of bottles. Somehow he managed not to drop any although he could hardley stand up. Grantham went 2 up and he was giving us stick. The rest was fun for us. All good fun! The crowd that day - my three mates, me, the drunk and 6,252 others.
