Wouldn't expect much movement on either of these fronts just yet: looks like Den's on holiday again!

Unless he's a Skype man, of course....

HITC is a website that serves one purpose: to harvest clicks. It's not rocket science: you link as many clubs as you dare to a player, and then watch as the clicks come rolling in from supporters of the alleged suitors and the player's current club. A brief look at the website's other stories reveals an embarrassing number of "In The Know" type articles, none of which have any grounding in reality or fact checking. Have a look through their archives and aside from fluffy listicles, "Twitter reaction" non-stories, you'll find a load of speculative nonsense that history has shown (like their Southwell to Blackburn story) to have been completely made up.

Of course, Southwell is almost certainly on the radar of many clubs, and I would be surprised if he's still here come the end of the summer. But remember that fake news sites like HITC have no more of a clue where he's likely to end up anyone else does.

Don't give them the benefit of your click and wait for an actual journalist to confirm one way or another on an actual newspaper site.

(This is where at 3pm today, Southwell signs for Hibs.... in which case I'm giving you all fair warning I'm not afraid of deleting all this!)

And let's be honest: Southwell will probably only commit to us if there's no better offer, so if he does sign up for next season we surely won't find that out any time soon. Of course, I hope I'm wrong and he just loves us so much he pens a three year deal, but....

The retained/released list is revealed on the O/S story of Courtney Wildin's signing. No major surprises.

Didn’t know much about Robbins until I saw him for the u21s a few weeks ago. Suffice to say I don’t think we’ll miss him. Thing is, he looked like he could be a very decent footballer but his attitude that night wasn’t right. Best for both parties if they go their separate ways.

As for the allegations, you can’t go around saying stuff like that unless you’re prepared to make an official complaint. Not saying I don’t believe him, but you have to report incidents properly so formal investigations can be undertaken, as happened with the supporter at York Street recently. Racism is a scourge that needs eradicating from the game entirely, so if Robbins really did encounter it at Boston United he should have reported it immediately. The club has already shown it takes such things very seriously, so there was really no reason to instead make some vague accusations on a blog after the event.

I literally thought after about 1 minute of surveying the situation that there was going to be trouble.  Luckily, that trouble seems to have ended up being relatively small compared to what might have happened.

Spot on. The moment I saw the dickheads mingling, I thought the same. What transpired was actually quite minor, but had the match been more dramatic (i.e., if Boston had actually made a game of it and had emotions been running high) then things may well have turned very ugly indeed.

Well done to the police for blocking the exit with a car as well, just as 2,000+ people wanted to leave. Amazing work.

Honestly - some of the decisions made yesterday were breathtakingly thick.

The penalty decision was laughable – truly ridiculous – but to try and blame the officials for our performance yesterday is a bit daft. We were abysmal, plain and simple. Pierluigi Collina could have reffed yesterday and we’d still have lost. Nope, this one rests squarely with the team, a fact the players themselves were able to acknowledge with a little more grace than some of the fans I listened to yesterday, blathering on about ‘FA conspiracies’ as though it was 2003 all over again. Quite how we managed to be so dire is mystifying given recent performances, but we were and Ferriby deserved to go through, however horrible it is to admit.

As for the crowd trouble, you have to marvel at the stupidity of Ferriby’s stewarding arrangements, or lack thereof. I watched a group of Boston fans break away from the main lot in the stand and tracked them as they walked around the ground, shoving past people on the way. It was obvious they weren’t going for a piss or a pie, and were instead heading to ‘occupy’ the Ferriby end. Why none of the five Ferriby stewards clocked them is beyond me. And a massive well done to the supporters who bravely took on the 14 year old Ferriby fans and upset a good number of Boston fans – including some teenage girls - in that part of the ground in the process. Absolute heroes.

He said "last ever game". I'd love him back, but even after a year out eating pad thai and, errrr.... kangaroo burgers, I imagine we'd face some stiff competition for his sig.

He confirmed it himself on Instagram:

"was gutted to have to come off in my last ever home game for Boston but overall I couldn't have asked for a better night, loved playing with my team mates over the last few years ❤️ hopefully we can go on to win the playoffs now before traveling begins!🌏"

Bah.

Apparently not - he's got tickets booked and is definitely jetting away for a year off.

Selfish fecker!

I think we can all agree he has been an absolutely outstanding player for the Pilgrims, certainly one of our very best central defenders. Absolutely gutted he's played his last game at York Street for us - here's hoping he can sign off with us being promoted.

All the best on yer travels, Pidge  :(

is it a bigger achievement than Forest winning the top division?
i think it is.

Absolutely.

But Forest's two back-to-back European Cups is a feat so implausible I don't think it will ever be topped, and definitely not by this (although it comes a very worthy second).

Pretty much always get this wrong, so with that in mind....
