I think he was on non contract terms.
If he gone because he wants a move, closer to home,then you can't knock the lad.
Darlington would have been a better option though, I don't know what recovery treatment he received from the club, a broken bone on the foot just normally needs time to heal.
I had a few over the years, just used bandage it up and put on another pair of socks.
