I'm very suprised by all the negative comments towards SWD. When he played for us he put the effort in and I would say whilst he has been at the club out of all the players in the squad he had the best touch on the ball. I can understand why he wants to have a go at full time if he can get it.

He played a really important role in the revival of the clubs fortunes on the pitch and maybe would of beat Newsham to top Goalscorer if he had been at the club for the whole season in 2009/10, top scorer last season too.

Its not like he did nothing for us over the 2 seasons. I would of liked him to stay and personally I think we'll struggle to get someone of his ability and work rate to replace him. I understand Canoville and Lee's stanch on him taking too much time to give an answer to signing for 2011/2012 but understand why he waited, hey he might miss out and end up worst off but in life you only have one chance and maybe he thinks this is his last chance to step up again. Personally I think he could step up to BSP level. We shall see but I think in the two seasons with us he has been a very good servent to the club but also I think the club have helped him too. All the best SWD, gonna miss the song too.. Do,do,do SWD!!!

I dont care what people say but players like Joey Barton would mix it up. He may well be a bit of th*g but atleast he gets stuck in. He can play abit too.

oxo - I had heard that too. He will certainly help plug the gap in the defence. The back line is nearly sorted already. Bazza, Jellyman, Austin, Canoville and Stevens. Not bad eh!

Maybe Ricky Drury will not be automatic choice as back up. Speaking to a certain ex Boston united goalkeeper who may get himself in the frame as back up keeper he may get the chance to be the back up keeper while registered somewhere else.  :o , We'll see hey!

I can imagine a conversation like this.

Eastwood Chairman :- Is there any way we can play in the play offs?
Conference Official :- Boston Utd may make the play offs too, I have noticed. Do you think you can beat them?
Eastwood Chairman :- Yes
Conference Official :- Approval Granted!, (by the way if Boston Utd beat you its back to the evo-stick, dont worry we'll make a rule up to send you back there!)

On a serious note, after beating Telford should we fear anyone really, Respect yes!, Fear no! Lets hope that if Eastwood make the top 5 that they are allowed to play and if we play them we will beat them fair and square.

dont know what game you watched but DD made a massive impact today. RS worked hard for a winger today and also gave their left back a touch time in the first half. I didnt really think that Worcester ever looked like scoring today. We were a little wastful and should of put the game to bed early second half really but everyone contributed today and most importantly 3 points. Lets see if we can charge down second place starting with a win at AFC Telford next week. Play offs nearly secured, c'mon!!

Posts: 21  It's a little early for April fools isn't it? This has to be a joke. Why would a club like ours (with ambitions to return to league football), appoint two mickey mouse managers over the likes of Dave Penny and other potential targets ( Jim Gannon, Ronnie Moore ).
If mickey and mouse are appointed, I believe this is the end of GTFC.
Mr Fenty and the board must be snorting illegal substances, and too much of them. My advice to them is to get into rehab, sort themselves out, then when they are well, return to GTFC, and sort it out.

common sense dictates that a manager whether brought in externally or someone already working at the club would only get the job until the end of the season as we don't know whether we'll be full time or part time yet as we will not know what league we will be in. We need a manager right now that knows the majority of the players in our squad and a decent knowledge of the BSBN. If we get promoted then the whole scenario will be different with a Different league to neg and possibly full time football.

I personally like the sound of Lee Canoville and Jason Lee pairing up to manage the team until the end of the season. Both know the league we are in and BOTH know all the players at the club (Barring the loan players in Lee's case of course!) I think it is essential we get someone that the players know then re-assess at the end of the season.

I would like to add my thanks to Rob and Paul for doing such a good job in helping to revive this club's fortunes over the past 20+ months. It would appear the departure could have been conducted a little better on their part but we don't know the full story. Wishing them the best of luck for the future and I can fully understand their wish to move on.

I am confused as to where this leaves them though. The club has to accept their resignation and according to Mr Newton despite having offered their resignation they are still contracted to Boston United. As such they're not going to be able to join any other clubs yet?

I think the logical conclusion to make here is that Dave just fancied a few headlines and that Rob and Paul will make a sensational return tomorrow morning.

I'm guessing that DN wanted compensation from GTFC but probably also a clause in their contracts that stated that BUFC players could not be poached, this is where I think this is where an agreement couldn't be made. I'm sure thats what Lincoln did when Alexander went to Peterborough.
