The B-Ark / Re: Fund-raising

If we do have a play-off match (or two) streamed online and BUFC has any say in it, one idea would be to have a 'pay what you want' viewing fee. Fans could be encouraged to donate whatever the admission fee was likely to be, with no obligation. It'd be a similar idea to what the National Theatre has been doing over the last couple of months.

Player of the (curtailed) season voting is open until 5pm tomorrow (Tuesday). If you haven't done so already, you can send in your choice to vote@bufc.co.uk.

The B-Ark / Re: Season over
« on: March 25, 2020, 06:33:09 PM »
This whole debate's only happening because the FA / leagues had no plan in place. Obviously they couldn't have predicted this precise pandemic but pandemics in general are inevitable. It's much easier to agree on a policy when everyone's on zero points than most of the way through a season. They'll face legal challenges whatever they do now.

Anyway, we are where we are. I'm in the 'start again when we can' camp, even if that means large changes to playing staff over the summer, but am open minded. There's a decent chance that season 2020/21 will be interrupted by another lockdown during the coming winter so we might not be able to finish that season on time if we try to start again in August. If we do carry on this season and finish it in October (say) then the leagues should arrange a one-off cup competition (with groups to guarantee a minimum number of games) in the spring of 2021 to see us through to the summer.

An update from Notts Police in the last few minutes:

"He (Jordan Sinnott) remains in hospital where he is continuing to be treated for life-threatening injuries."

There are usually matches moved to the Sunday for BBC live Final Score, too.
Ours has been moved. 2pm kick-off on Sunday December 1st.

Telford went through tonight so their scheduled league game with Darlington on February 23rd is off.

Could we bring forward our home tie with Darlington from April 13th? It might be preferable for both teams to have a break over that April weekend because it's immediately before the Easter double-header.

I've lived in Basingstoke for 10 years. The closest ground to here that I've seen BUFC play at in that time is Oxford City, about 35 miles away. The closest in the league at the moment is Brackley, 50 miles away. A return to playing some southern clubs would be very much appreciated!

Apparently the plan is that it will still be three down from each of National Leagues North and South. The champions of each of the four step three leagues will be promoted while there will be 'super play-offs' between the four divisional play-off winners for the final two promotions spots.

I went for the postal option and my ticket arrived about a week ago. It was for the terrace behind the goal rather than the seating area.

Two years ago, I was in Basel for Switzerland v England on a Monday evening then made it to the Oxford City home game the following night. Yes, that 2-7 game...  8)

Also made it to a Saturday afternoon BUFC home game once after waking up in Stockholm. Think we lost that one too!

The B-Ark / Nuneaton's appeal has been dismissed
« on: April 22, 2016, 07:00:49 PM »
http://www.thefa.com/news/governance/2016/apr/fa-appeal-board-nuneaton-town

An FA Appeal Board has today [Friday 22 April 2016] dismissed an appeal from Nuneaton Town in relation to a decision by the National League to deduct the club three points for fielding an unregistered player.

The charge, which the club admitted, was in relation to Nuneaton’s National League North fixture against Corby Town on 27 February 2016, which Nuneaton won 3-1. The League issued a sanction of a deduction of the three points gained from the fixture and a fine of £250.

Nuneaton appealed to The FA on the grounds that the League misinterpreted or failed to comply with the rules or regulations relevant to its decision.

However, this claim was dismissed by The FA Appeal Board and the full decision of the National League remains in place.
