I did think there might be a few new faces today. :)
-
Me too. Endured an hour of Radio Lincolnshire talking about wrestling in the expectation that they would at some stage give out some football news. They didn't. That's an hour of my life I won't get back.
-
I don't think we need to panic yet, it's early doors yet on signing players.
If takes another 2 weeks to get the right players then so be it.
Craig is not a knee jerk reaction type of fellow.
-
I believe craig singletons been on holiday so probably nothing till he gets back
-

How very dare him going on holiday, he needs to get his priorities right LOL
-

As has the chief scout.

Nothing concrete, but have seen a couple of tweets linking us with Jack Vann from Harrogate, Lee Shaw from Grantham and Reece Thompson. But it appears there are other clubs also chasing the same players including Alfreton and York for Thompson and Halifax and Solihull for Shaw. Might just be someone playing a guessing game on twitter, but who knows?
-
Far to much speculation Thomson is being retained by Guisely fact. Far to often managers get pressured into mentioning targets thereby alerting other clubs who then come sniffing. Be patient, there are so many things that can delay proceedings at this early stage and be assured the manager will be doing all he can to land his targets and will not do or say anything that could stymie that and rightly so.
PS Keep filling your jam jars. UTP.
-
Nicky Walker from Trinity
-
Both Southwell and Thompson have a year left on their contracts . I guess a Salford or Harrogate cheque book could land one of them and Guiseley would be delighted .
-
Nathan Arnold, good first signing
-
Yes we do - Nathan Arnold from up the road
-
good signing .... :D
-
What a cracking signing Arnold is. This just proves my point about keeping quiet until deals are signed, there is no doubt many others would have been sniffing around. Keep em coming like that Craig great start. UTP
-
Hopefully noughtyforties will be pleased.
TEP

Couldn't agree more Mel, l was only joking with a Lincoln city fan friend this morning about him coming to Boston.
I thought could he would he, and here he is.
-
Well he was well worth the wait!
-
Here we were a few days ago, being all down about Hemmings not staying, but Nathan is a real step up from Hemmings, looking at the non league news there are quite a few players leaving clubs that I thought would never leave on their own accord.
Probably a few heading to Boston, and perhaps a few dropping down from league footbal, perhaps who knows.
-
A few of CE old players have left Shaw Lane, two have gone to Trinity and a couple are yet to be announced at other clubs including Harris the Captain, and Byrne the winger.
Could they be heading our way ??

I fully agree, a cracking signing.
-
Thomson is being retained by Guisely fact.
Presumably though Thompson's contract was based on full time football. If the club reverts to part time status then the contract can't be worth the paper it was written on. And it may get harder for them to retain him.

Southwell and Thompson must pose a big problem for Bignot , desperate to cut the wage bill , but who will pay a fee and match Southwell wages . I guess his first choice is to keep Thompson and sell Southwell .
-
Looking at the New Fishy many Grimsby fans would have taken Nathan back .
It would complete a great double if Craig can snatch Josh Wilde from the grasp of Billy Heath .
-
Well, I started the post and i'm more than happy with the first new face.
Well done CE, keep them coming like that and we as supporters will be more than happy. :) :)
-
Didn't Nathan sign on loan for Salford? Perhaps his lack of match appearances for them influenced his decision. Is he on loan to us or is he a one year contract player?
-

It was reported he left Lincoln so he's not on loan from them. He's ours.

He was a free agent, after leaving Lincoln last week. He's signed permanently as a player/coach (has his UEFA B badge).
-
Next signing as just been announced: Ben Middleton!! Outstanding work to bring him back.
-
It keeps getting better, keep it up Craig 8)
-
Two quality signings these, not going to be any doubts as to whether they will be good enough.
No need to panic!
The strikers are the only real area of concern at the moment with none in the squad. I'm sure CE and his coaching/scouting team will sort this.
-
Lee Shaw from Grantham? Would he cut it at this higher level? Would we be able to attract him to us?
Pity Guiseley have tied down Thompson (and Dayle)
-
Great signing, welcome back Ben
-
Good stuff so far. Good luck to those that left. It's football. No grudges.move on
-
Nicky Walker from Trinity
Not one for me, unless he has improved massively since he was here before.
Just floated in and out of game's.

Let's hope he changes my opinion of him, he has the ability and skills, it was just his work rate and attitude that let him down.
I would imagine though Craig has changed that about him, and we definitely know that he won't put up with it.
Welcome back Nicky and good luck.
-
Walker is decent. Good signing. Wilde has joined Alfreton
-
Three good signings so far. not bothered about Hemmings going.
Re Wilde- had his chance to come here several years ago,
so why bother about him now - thought he was poor anyway.
Keep up the good work Craig, every faith in you to get the
right players here and the right blend.

Another 'keeper signed, 19 year old Dylan Parkin who has been released by Chesterfield

John Mcombe centre half from Harrogate signs for us.
Another big signing me thinks.
-
John Mcombe centre half from Harrogate signs for us.
Another big signing me thinks.
This is our second attempt at signing him. I remember him and Michael Proctor being announced before the 2-1 win at Mansfield, only for both deals to fall through and Proctor to help relegate us at Wrexham a few weeks later.
-
Played in Harrogates play off win. Big lad too, good signing
-
Good to have a bit of experience in the squad.
Jordan Keane's boots soon filled!
-
Any news regarding Wafula, Clifton and Brogan.
-
Almost an all Harrogate defence ,
-
Possibly one incoming from Grantham if terms can be agreed.

Would that be a striker ??

Wafula already signed. Just waiting for Clifton & Brogan.

Shaw going to Coalville I heard.

Shaw going to Coalville I heard.
Yes you are right, with an injury according to this article
http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/coalvilletown/news/exciting-winger-joins-from-grantham-town-2309720.html
-
There were two Shaws at Grantham. Not sure that the one moved to Coalville was the same one that got all the goals.

Yes you are right it's Lee Shaw the goal scorer.

Guiseley fans suggesting Dayle may be signing for Halifax , if so little chance of them letting Reece Thompson go .
-
They've posted this, too:

Guiseley fans suggesting Dayle may be signing for Halifax , if so little chance of them letting Reece Thompson go .
Dayle's move to Halifax has now been confirmed, so we'll have to look elsewhere for a striker - there's surely no way Guiseley will let him leave.

Guiseley could well sign another goalscorer to replace Dayle? It's an interesting one with Reece; a section of their fans do not like him. Take a look at their OS. The club have tried to win his detractors over by getting him to post a plea for loyalty & togetherness from All Guiseley fans for the coming CN season. On their Twitter feed the first fan response to this Thompson plea is one of disbelief. The fan questions His loyalty to the club & attitude in general.
Also the fact that the he appears to have an excellent working relationship with Craig Elliot & appeared to enjoy his loan spell with us. If they do bring another striker in with the DS cash; maybe another loan or permanent move could be on for RT?
-
Personally I think with signings so far, that Craig will be looking for a better qaulity striker than Reece.
I don't think Craig will waste anymore time on it, he doesn't strike me as a person that will be messed about much.
Good luck to Reece though and I would have loved to have seen him return to us, I think Guisley will really struggle this season, if they have had to sell Dayle to bring money in to build a sqaud.
They are not showing much ambition by selling a qaulity player like Dayle.
-
Dayle has left because he wants to stay full time, and Guiseley have reverted to part time.
-
Scott Garner went in the opposite direction joining Guiseley from Halifax
-
Dayle has left because he wants to stay full time, and Guiseley have reverted to part time.
Dayle was contacted for this coming season. His wages would be much more than Guiseley could afford at North level, so it suited both parties for Dayle to leave.
-
Tsiminagha or whatever his name is has joined Oxfod City. All the best to him. Good squad/ impact player
-
DONE DEAL: The Pilgrims’ sixth newcomer of the summer is 28-year-old left-sided defender @jordangough90, who has previous National League North experience with Solihull Moors, Brackley Town and AFC Telford United:
-
Another cracking signing, this is beginning to be a good squad on paper.
-
Impressive stuff, but oh for some strikers!

Gregg Smith still without a team. I was joking, but nothing would surprise me.

Could the big fella return ??
You never know TTT, he certainly would be made welcome.

That's probably the defence done then another midfielder needed and about three more attackers !

I meant strikers who actually scores goals.....

Yes Smithy will always be welcome wherever We are playing. Will always remember him fondly, especially when he'd come in Town End with his kids & Wife after his horror ankle fracture. He loved the rapore with us fans & always made time for anyone who wanted a chat. A top, genuine guy, a committed grafter who also scored some great goals for us; many of them were winning goals too. Two in particular stand out for me: our goal at Stockport 2 seasons back, when he got his head on a superb cross from Marshall finishing a brilliant flowing team move that began with st Juste at left back. The other was that 93 min winner v Alfreton at York Street after being 1-2 down with 4 mins of normal time left. Oh his 92 min winner at Telford was also up there!
Personally I think Craig has had a real long look at Smithy & decided he's not the type of striker he wants to fit in with his crisp passing mobile system. I've said several times if Greg could have held it up better & fed it back regularly to the attacking m/fielders & wing backs he would have been playing at least in the Conference. All the best Big Fella to ur Family too....I know u will keep those centre halfs terrified.
-
more like bull in a china shop...lower league player, poss do well at town
-

Gregg Smith still without a team. I was joking, but nothing would surprise me.
Me either, Gregg only 27ish, OK had some serious injuries, some players do & still do the business. Still maybe his best ahead? Craig Elliot was a cracking Centre Forward, surely they could get the big fella really sharpened up & also work on his hold up play & keeping his distribution simple! Gregg has so many other Major assets to his game. Can be unplayable in the air, he's got a decent shot on him, goalscorer & absolutely psyches out all central defenders --- most are shit scared of him. If he was to come back --- Let them have it Big Man.
-
Any rumours/ news re Clifton or Brogan. Both decent players imo
-
Smith is not the answer......
-
Smith would be ideal in a 4 4 2. But that seems not to be a system liked by many managers these days. 100% effort. Gives everything for the cause. Limited in many areas but loves (loved?) the club and will be a fine signing wherever he goes. Good luck to him
-

No it's been very quiet about both of them, they are still on the team list though, but probably can't read to much in to that though xx
-
Clifton signed for Alfreton
-
Clifton signed for Alfreton
A good player when he put his mind to it, drifted in and out during some of our latter games last season.
-
Smith is not the answer......
Yeah can understand that. Maybe not what CE has in mind for how he wants us to play. Yes he has assets to his game & never gives less than his all. As I stated Distribution & hold up play wanting at our level; there's also the question of his discipline & general fitness too. We need a 20 goal a season CF. If Guiseley were still full time & in Conference I would have said Thompson deal was dead esp with Dayle being sold. Then again u would have thought Craig would have made his move by now. Is Ricky Miller signed up after Peterborough debacle?
-
I'm certain the manager has people in mind. He doesn't strike me as a manger that will panic about getting what he wants. I'm certain we will be seeing a striker or two in the very near future.
-

Some changes to come.
-
Matt Jansen has resigned at Chorley
-
His Twitter says he was 'forced to resign'. No doubt more news to come in that one!
-

Does not surprise me one bit,, I thought it would have come earlier than this.
He keeps failing to get them promoted, and they have been spending alot of money .
-
Brogan photo removed from OS today , presumably another one gone !
-
Alfreton perhaps?
-
And is that why Gough has been signed?
-
Would be v surprised if Brogan turned up at Alfreton. They've got Josh Wilde who is quality plus Ciaran Keane who can play left back or left mid
Think he's Sheffield based so that brings the Leeds and Manchester based clubs into the picture too for his services
-

Guisley or BPA ????
-

Probably with Middleton and Gough signed Clifton and Brogan could see they would not be automatic starters at YS .
-
I think Clifton would get into most NLN sides. One of the better right sided players I've seen at Step 2. Almost too easy for him sometimes I thought. Quality player
-
Matt Jansen has resigned at Chorley
How has he got away with not being able to get them out of the CN for so long? It's a simple equation for success: An incredible catchment area for Quality signings & free reign on Lancashire FL club loan youth signings. Can u imagine, sorry dream, of us being surrounded by the depth of quality Jensen's had access to?? They Board have backed him financially all the way & he just couldn't deliver the Goods. Will always detest him for the middle finger celebrations when Roscoes overhead kick equalised 94th min & pidge hit the bar with his pen. Also when he had injuries & influenced the ref to call the game off at our place couple of seasons ago when pitch was playable. Apart from all that I quite like him🚾😪
-
Managers back off his hols expect a couple of strikers in this week.
-
I think Clifton would get into most NLN sides. One of the better right sided players I've seen at Step 2. Almost too easy for him sometimes I thought. Quality player
too inconsistent and better as a right sided midfielder in a AM style set up. With Middleton already signed, he's no loss.
-
So what's happening on the new stadium site, l have been told that the work that is being carried out is for rentail outlets on the stadium site nothing to do with the stadium.
But the plans do not show any retail units on the stadium site, only the ones at the entrance next to the roundabout, which l presume is were KFC and Costa are going.
This information was passed on to me from a close friend of Mr Singleton, who apparently had told him this.
Me personally I think it's a load of rubbish and the actual work taking place is for the contractor's compound and office site.
This is what normally is put in place before any work commences on any construction site.
Would have liked the club to have given us the official notification of what's happening.
-
Drainage for stadium site.
-
Doesn't 100 New homes need to be occupied before work can commence with stadium?
-
New left back from Osset Town...
-

Agree with that, another player who AM lauded to the heavens this time last year. For me he's nothing special. What is he? A right back (poor positional sense), right wing back (bit of pace....final ball often poor) & he's never a right sided midfielder. In fact in many games last season it was plain to see that he's not sure of his role in the teams defensive shape when our attacks brake down. I spoke to brackley fans who wished him well but said he never looked part of how they played.
-
New left back from Osset Town...
Ashley Jackson, described as a classy player that rarely looses the ball.

Different to most the left backs we have had over he past few seasons then !!
DT Woodhall listened to at last, will be delighted !
-
Ash Jackson looked a very good prospect when he was at Worksop several years ago playing for our U19's. If I remember correctly we picked him up after he left Scunny.
Good luck to the lad, I hope it works out for him.

Squad is looking good on paper Pete, but proof in the pudding etc
Just need 2/3 strikers now, leave it to a northern manager to sort
the job out. Still would not be surprised to see Reece T back playing
for us this year. Hope so I liked his style of play and tenacity
