Is Kallum Smith considered 1 of the 2 released? Who does everyone think is going? Obviously if it's contracted players we'd need to reach a deal like with KS.

Ross

dont think SMITH is 1 of the 2 he was never in G.D. plan's, smith left noing this. good luck to him

I would say Smith is the one that is releasesd and Reed will be sent out on loan.
-
I would think it will be difficult to get rid of the ones he would prefer to release (contracted) so I think Tash is about right .
I think Foster will retain the captains arm band when (and if) Jelly and Ross return from injury.
It would be nice to hear Shauneys thoughts on the last comment.
-
I also don't think smith is 1 out of the 2 due to the fact that smith wasn't on our wage bill while he was on loan.
Good luck to smith always a hard working player and wish him the best.
The word at Least 2 was used and not 2 players

Also just want to add my points on ross.
Milnes as been a far far better player with Ross out the middle and foster there instead so as good as Ross can be at times im one of those that thinks Ross as his days numbered and i don't mind if they are.
-
I think FOSTER in ROSS out.
MAYO in JELL's out.
MAYO would work well with a young left back who is causeing wave's elsewhere at the moment.
AND is on more than Boston's radar. ;) ;) ;) ;)

WHY not a younger player to cover for MAYO?

We will just need to see what happens.

Try Tom Ward as a target man . .

Had a little chat with Rossy before the game on Saturday and asked him if he feels he will be with us next season. He replied saying he loved the club and nobody should want to leave the biggest and best club in the league. He was gracious enough to say "since iv'e been out injured the lads have done brilliant". He said "I definately want to stay but like some of the other lads we don't know if we will be wanted"
I have to say he was very pleasant and obviously sincere.
-
Id agree with what you say and to be honest i speak to a lot of our players and i have to say that all the players at Boston united are pleasant to talk to. Football is a harsh game on the players front and ill use ross as the example as we are talking about him, As he says the team have performed very well without him and some will say better. This don't mean Ross is a bad player just possibly a player that don't fit into the system/plans. i have said it a few year back that sometimes its best to change a good player and bring someone to fit the team than it is to change a team to fit a good player.
I think it was semple i made that comment about.(just seems we forgot to bring in the player to fit the team in that case).

You'd have to thinks defender must be going out on loan, we've gone from having two recognised centre backs and three fullbacks (Ward, Stano, Jelly, Silk and Marshall) to having four centrebacks and five fullbacks (Watts & Lister, Mayo & Walker)
Unless GD sees us playing with five at the back 11 into 4 just doesn't go!
My money is on wardy leaving temporarily

Id agree with that. My money(if i had any)would go the same way

Not all players are equal in terms of salary. As it's a case of balancing the books, then surely the choice of player to release must partly depend on the player's wages. I wouldn't have thought the likes of Reed and Ward were on enough money for their wages to make that big a difference to the budget. But I don't think Silk is particularly safe. I'd imagine he's one of our higher earning defenders and yet he must be behind Marshall in the pecking order at right back and several others at centre half. Plus I gather he didn't exactly go up in Drury's estimations after the sending off at Altrincham?

well done;; ;)

FC are getting some decent players down there. Really rate young Reed and can't believe he hasn't been given more time in the first team. I haven't watched a match anywhere since I was unceremoniously dumped by United, so think I will have a trip down Tattershall Road very soon.

I know what these 2 get and i will have to agree with you on this. so has you say there must be others who aint safe

Think Wardy will probably be the one to go out on Loan. After Lister replacing Watt on Saturday I get the impression Wardy is out of favour...

Gary Silk has been released: http://www.bostonunited.co.uk/news/drury-releases-defender-silk-858337.html (http://www.bostonunited.co.uk/news/drury-releases-defender-silk-858337.html)

Silk cut.

If you have a spare centre half we might need one on loan until the end of the season. At this time last week we had 4 (plus another who is on a season's loan at Buxton), however, on Friday night/Saturday morning we sent Adie Hawes on loan to Grantham for the rest of the season (not sure if there is a recall clause), then in the first minute of Saturday's game we lost another centre half with a bad knee injury that looked like would keep him out for the season.
Therefore, we are down to two, one of which is Kern Miller (who has played well for us, apart from a very dodgy January when our form was very poor). As a result our manager may now be looking for a centre half on loan as cover?

Uni course on a Thursday night! Hope Mayo is not on duty on a Thursday night !!!!

The one thing that has always stood out with revolving door management is that the true cost in pay-offs and deals is never truly known to an outsider.
It'll eat up our budget if all these players are getting a cut of what they would have earned.
-
Gus what happened to you ? Dumped ??

Only if he was under contract that would be a concearn

Silk cut.
We've still got plenty of players.
