Welcome to Pilgrims Patter
Leamington just announced they are streaming their home cup tie on Saturday so should think they will also stream their match against us on Tuesday. Good to see clubs are streaming, won't ake a huge amount but should be able to to make some profit from it to keep the clubs going rather than just relying on handouts. If 300 fans pay £10 per match to stream, £3000 (maybe around £2500 after expenses if done in a cheap way but could still provide a decent viewing experience with just 1 camera angle) which is a lot less than normal matchday revenue but all helps.
I think being classed elite is beneficial overall. If we weren't we could be stuck playing in front of 600 fans at home, trying to pay for a squad assembled presumably for gates of double that.Hopefully the government support will replace the necessary gate income, and all being well, we can at least watch the league games via some sort of streaming set up.
After the FA Youth Cup win over West Bridgford, chris b posted a link to the goals on twitter. They were filmed using something called a Sportsmast. Never heard of the company, but thought the picture quality amazing. It basically looked like a 6m pole on a tripod with camera mounted at top and a ground based cameraman operating controls through an eyelevel viewfinder. Surely a lot cheaper (and quicker)to organise than gantry & tv camera? Are they commonly used to film sports events or are they something new?
The operators of the normal video camera that record the full match for thr highlights (and for performance analysis) have suggested that the Northolme doesn't have the necessary Internet connection speed to allow live streaming of a good quailty picture.I imagine it's something the club will look into, in time for our first "home" league game.
