Did we not do the same thing at York to get a result???

Teams do what they think will get a result, us included.

We didn't go out for a draw at York, we were actually forced to defend and somehow came out with a 1-0 thanks to some awesome defending.

Today we played an ugly team (in more ways than one!), and came out with a 1-0 win. Let's move on, and onto Alfreton, when if we beat them, and Gloucester do us a favour and win at Nuneaton, we go top of the league.

Amazingly, despite seemingly intent on playing for a draw, have only drawn twice all season!

With Gloucesters negative and unsporting conduct aside, I was so pleased we managed to overcome them yesterday and bag all 3 vital points. At this stage in the season, I don't care if we're in a scrappy dog fight or playing like Barcelona, the main objective has to be to gain as many points as possible to acheive a play off place. The players demonstrated yesterday they can do it the hard and messy way. They have the determination to grind out a result and full credit to them for their positive mentallity, they weren't prepared to settle for a draw and continued to battle till the job was done. Football isn't always pretty but we should remember football is a results game. There's no place for good loosers, points is exactly what it's all about.

I big well done to all the players and to Paul and Rob.

The 3 points we scrapped for yesterday could be a big factor in where we finish - had it ended 0-0 and we ended up missing out on a play off place by 2 points I think a lot of fans would have ruefully looked back at this game.

A month ago gentlemen we would have either drawn or lost this type of game.We are now back in the grove, lets face it ninety percent of teams who come to Boston look to spoil the game to grab a draw. But the fact remains we won, lets move on to more important things as to how we beat an Alfreton team who like to mix it up and can play football when the time demands it.Maybe we will have to defend deep for ninety minutes and grab the winner on the break.

With Guiseley and Blyth both losing yesterday our grip on a play-off position has tightened slightly and according to the NLP Solihull have to put an extra 250 seats  in their stadium to bring their ground up to BSP standard or they won't be able to compete in the play-offs.
