Non-league football is often about "car schools". We have a few players from Peterborough for example who will travel to matches and training together and therefore cut down on travelling costs and driving responsibilities. The same applies with Konadu and Steer both coming up from London, and with several players clustered around Nottingham and Leicester.
Sheffield, where Ross is based, has always been a hotspot for us to pick players from. Since the arrival of Dennis Greene though, our signings have tended to be more southern than northern, and as far as I know there's only Ross and Newsham left who are from the Steel City. I think it'll be a shame if Ross goes, if only for the fact that he's the best set piece specialist we've had since Neil Redfearn. But I also wonder what effect his departure will have on Newsham's circumstances? If we don't pick up other players from that area, will Newsham be happy travelling to and from Boston on his own?
