Apparently he was injured. Said in his programme notes that he is leaving the club at end of season. Great servant for the club and wish him well...

He has been a great servant I just feel he is not quite what we need anymore. He lacks the mobility and tenacity we need in our midfield. Just look at the massive difference since jay dowie was signed. We have been undefeated since he joined. We look so much better in midfield without ross in the team for sure.

shauneyg you messages over the last few days almost come across if your the manager. For me for several years has been a class act as much as Dowie runs and runs you cannot replace class and his passing range is second to none at this level and a great servant. The majority of the support at all the Bufc  dos i go to speak very highly shame he hasn't been given the chance to be given a decent send off that his loyalty deserves.

Ross has been great to watch during his time here.

With the player of the season awards Miller was the man who collected the awards after having a brilliant 2nd half of the season (and a good 1st half).

However, in the 1st half of the season Ross and Newsham were the stand out performers. Newsham picked up were he left of last season and would have been closer in the player of season awards had he not been injured lately. In the 1st few months of the season Ross was brilliant and seemed to create as many goals as the rest of the team put together. Then got injured in the winter and not got back to his best.

Ross always found time on the ball when there didn't appear to be any...

I'm entitled to my opinion Fishtoft crew. Ross has been good for us no dpint about that but for me he tries playing the long ball too often and is simply too slow and doesn't get about the pitch enough and gets over run in alot of games at this level. Just my opinion..

Sadly both Ross & SWD who have had many outstanding games for us have reached there sell by dates .
In football as any other business sentiment is a hinderence to progress .

SHauney what I meant was you seem to echo in all posts what dg does and of course everyone has an opinion and so they should. All I meant was perhaps not put correctly is that we were flying with Ross and miles and all of a sudden neither really got a much of a shout. And Ross perhaps hasn't been given the chance to say goodbye which is a shame

I agree with the way in which DG has changed the tactics in recent weeks and think the new signings have made a big difference and we now look a much better team. Yes I agree would of been nice for ross to say good bye to the fan's.

Non-league football is often about "car schools". We have a few players from Peterborough for example who will travel to matches and training together and therefore cut down on travelling costs and driving responsibilities. The same applies with Konadu and Steer both coming up from London, and with several players clustered around Nottingham and Leicester.

Sheffield, where Ross is based, has always been a hotspot for us to pick players from. Since the arrival of Dennis Greene though, our signings have tended to be more southern than northern, and as far as I know there's only Ross and Newsham left who are from the Steel City. I think it'll be a shame if Ross goes, if only for the fact that he's the best set piece specialist we've had since Neil Redfearn. But I also wonder what effect his departure will have on Newsham's circumstances? If we don't pick up other players from that area, will Newsham be happy travelling to and from Boston on his own?

Sign players for playing ability, not location ,location location.

Thanks Shauneyg. Great player committed to our club. Best wishes for the future Ian Ross.

If your looking for the manager on here then I suggest Tony A His posts always seem an apology for his decisions regarding team selection. If I am wrong please accept my apology Tony.

I believe that I know who Tony A is, and if I am right, he is not DG.

Tony, do you drive a Honda?

Yes Wembley, but don't tell anyone.

By my reckoning Tony is very close to achieving four years membership of Patter .

Ross has undeniably been a great servant to the club, no doubt about that, but as much as I admire all his previous efforts the key word in my admiration is I am afraid 'has'. I'm afraid I agree with Shaun G and to say he was brilliant, created as many goals as the rest of the team put together and was the stand out performer in the first half of the season, is frankly beyond me Lee. Sorry mate
