Just supposing about Burscough... We've taken one point out of two matches against them this year, BPA have taken three from two, Retford, Guiseley and North Ferriby three from one.

Not willing them to go under, but it'd give us a boost.

Possible that he was out of contract, but we had to pay some compensation to Stamford because of him being U23 etc?

No New Year's Day fixture for two seasons in a row, and this one off at 10am because of a bit of frost... This has to be one of the main motives to get out of this league...

« on: December 26, 2009, 11:00:08 AM »
And these ones are already off:

Ashton vs. FCUM
Burscough vs. Kendal
Matlock vs. Buxton
Ocid vs. NFU
Retford vs. Frickley
Worksop vs. Hucknall

Only our match and three others are on at the moment...

BPA vs. Guiseley
Marine vs. Nantwich
Whitby vs. Durham

According to the BPA forum, they hired a snow plough and their pitch is clear, but they're short of volunteers to clear the spectators' areas...

It's all good for us, if we win today. Some teams' fixture pileups are shocking - Kendal will remain two points but seven games behind Ashton today.

I thought Bradford looked better than us on the day, which is quite galling as they are a horrible excuse of a tinpot football club. They are now favourites for the league, but I wouldn't rule any of us, Retford, NFU Kendal or Guiseley out as the league is so topsy turvy (although the latter two are probably going to struggle with a huge fixture backlog considering there will be quite a few postponements to come yet).

The last few week's have truly been football coming back to bite you with our form and the demise of King's Lynn and the Boxing Day derby, but we just need to get our heads down and start stringing together the wins again. The Unibond's incessant tinkering with the fixture list and York Street's record for keeping games on means we look to have a decent routine after Christmas: training on Tuesdays and Thursdays with matches exclusive to Saturdays.

Stocksbridge had been told by the Unibond league that they will now have to play Boston United away on Boxing Day, the fixture which was originally Kings Lynn's.

Even the Unibond can't possibly postpone a fixture on the basis that a team's players don't fancy it. They will have spent the entirety of their playing career playing on Boxing Day - and this year the calendar has been kind to them and given them six clear days between Boxing Day and New Year's Day. The league told them that they'd probably have to play us presumably about a fortnight ago. Frankly, they've got to get over it and fulfil their fixtures.

I wouldn't blame the officials today. The second half way they were allowed to become very physical but we didn't cope with it that badly. I was only half looking to see them win the corner they equalised from, but it looked so blatantly a goal kick that I'm going to assume I've missed something. The defending was uncharacteristically poor and cost us two points, but with Kendal/Guiseley now building up a massive games deficit I think we're the best placed team in the league.

However, I'm sure that RS/PH will have choice words with the players and that two hard training sessions in the week will see the creases ironed out in time for the Matlock match. We've made phenomenal progress in the past half year.

They will have a lot of games in hand and we'll probably be "in range" for them for most of the season - but if we keep knowing out the wins I'd much rather be in our position. They're going to have a hellish pile up of games to be played in midweek on February nights - and some of them could be postponed multiple times. At the moment, our fixture list works well with no more league games scheduled in mid week. Play Saturday, train Tuesday and Thursday has to be the ideal...

How much longer have we got to listen to Lincoln city dross  come on move on BBC RLincs

Sod Radio Lincs, it's not worth it. Scott puts all his interviews on Twitter (although Radio Lincoln City don't even bother to link to them), so just wait for them to appear - it's the only coverage of BUFC you get and you don't have to listen to all the rubbish talked about Sh*tty by their fanboy journos, tea ladies, braindead players, stewards and hospitality attendants.

If you look at their website's sport section, you would be none the wiser as to the fact that there is more than one senior football team in Lincolnshire.

Available on Twitter now - have we had a mention on the BBC yet?

Not a lot to say about the footie. Just very satisfied. Going to plan eh?

Barring Durham inevitably finding themselves a north east oil sheik by January, these changes almost seem well worked.
