question(s)
« on: September 20, 2009, 07:44:02 PM »
Whether you're a whinger or a happy clapper at least the debate has sparked this forum to life. I've read a lot and heard a lot about "We're not good enough", "We're not as good as we think we are" etc.etc., this has prompted me to ask 3 simple questions, just give 3 simple answers:

1) How many competitive games have you seen this season (excluding the Lincs Shield)
2) Do you think you have seen a better team(s)
3) If the answer to 2 is yes name the team(s)

I'll start the ball rolling:

1) All 9 league and the FA Cup
2) No
3) N/A

Given that we have played 4 of the 7 teams above us it says to me we are not far off IMO

2) No (Kendal the only team to come anywhere near matching us IMO)
3) N/A

This is not scientific or in any way conclusive but I will let this run till Tuesday dinner then collate the result and get a general opinion of what fans think. Last season I saw every game home and away and could name 6 teams better and another 4 possibles, which makes calls for Welsh even more laughable IMO. It gives those who say how poor this team are the opportunity to say who's better too.

Will probably do this again in 6 league matches time as by then the table will have more meaning, we'll have played everyone bar 4 and most importantly the last of those is Nantwich away, which for me will conclusively show how this team compares to last.

Meant to say when I put this up for me we have been the worse team twice this season, away at Burscough but this was more to do with virtually every player having an off day rather than them being any good (we have beaten better already). And Matlock at home, the reason I don't think they were any better is they were far too negative when if they had been more positive they'd probably have beaten us, whereas when we have been in a similar position away we have gone for the win and got it.

Missed 2 home (both Nil:Nil  ;D) and one Away (Burscough  ;D)

Have I seen anyone better than us.... NO! ;D and were're 100x better than the bollocks we were served up last year.

They know what they are doing and I feel safer knowing our club is in their hands, don't ruin this good thing we have got before they even get given a chance.

So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Although now I think about it Kendal were fairly good.
On the day Burscough were better than us but I think that's a blip rather than a trend.
