Thought Mr Tickle looked good in his little black number ;D. Didn't spot N40 in the audience.

Typical BBC hand picked audience, majority made up of the loony left/liberal brigade, hardly conducive for an impartial discussion. Thought Nigel Farage came across pretty well.

Why didn't you apply to represent the looney right? You can say categorically that every member of the audience was a looney lefty/liberal can you? Do you still read the Daily Mail?

That probably explains why you think the BBC is full of loony lefties...

Made a change for Boston not to come across as a bunch of irrational racists or just the stupid people the television normally selects for Boston

Shame the BBC did not select a fair amount of Poles to be present . If they had done they would have protested that the town cannot cope with a influx of Bulgarians and Romanians , and in doing so would not have been accused of being racist.

I felt the Greek 'convicted fraudster' and Keynesian economist Vicky Pryce come across better than 'Austrian student' Nigel Farage. The Labour & Tory 'put ups' were very poor while the 'poet' was entertaining.

Quote from Pryce book 'Greekonomics' (2012) on a Greek exit from the Eurozone:-

"A serious possibility of exit -- and how could it be kept completely secret? -- would lead to a full-scale run on the banks. Clearly any country wishing to exit the eurozone would have to nationalize or take temporary control of the banks and reintroduce controls on the movement of capital. The government would also need to reintroduce stringent border controls to stop people leaving the country with euro notes and coins in their luggage or in their underwear! In countries like Greece, where taking to the streets is part of the political way of life, the population would probably react by attempting to physically remove their savings, breaking into the banks -- and then for good measure attacking Parliament. So in Greece a euro exit could easily end with troops on the streets and martial law -- just the circumstances that joining the EU was meant to prevent."

Her Keynesian answer is:-

Pryce favours fiscal policy that includes a stimulus package and wants the European Central Bank to buy bonds.

In plain English 'Print money' and devalue our currencies.

I wonder why our energy bills are going through the roof?

Farage impressed me because he answered the questions and respected the others opportunity to speak by remaining quiet and let them have their say. The other two politicians did the usual thing of waffling and avoiding giving answers. The poet may as well have stayed at home and Pryce could have done the same. Farage never said kick out the foreigners but was right about the lack of immigration control and the strain on services caused by the population boom not being matched by increase of money to increase those  services. If he stood for election in this area I would vote for him. I seem to only hear Simmonds name on this forum and labours rep' is no alternative whatsoever. Must go now, going out to set up a business hiring kids to immigrants so they can claim benefits, isn't that what the smart, good English speaking Ruski said happens, immigrants claiming benefits for kids that don't exist.

Several times they mentioned that there wasn't enough money available for the infrastructure and services that this borough requires, and yet the Council spends taxpayer's money willy nilly trying to cover up the mistakes made by their incompetent Planning Department  :o
Strange but true   :dan

Quite true the television does seem to like portraying Boston in a bad light. It is a sad state when you can't come out with a well constructed argument without being accused of racism

I defy anyone to submit a better posting than that on the subject of last nights Question Time

Going through hundreds of postings on the internet over the weekend the following points seemed to emerge ..
Non Bostonians sensed that the BBC had fixed an unrepresentive audience (claims of BBC busing a load of loonie lefties to most the programmes )
On Huffington Post online a poll was set up for votes on if Mrs Soubry was right to accuse Fararge of "scaremongering "  ,  20% voted in Soubrys favour ,     72 % in Farage favour .
Where were the immigrants in the audience ?
Most locals and many neutral though Farage had been "stiched up " by the BBC. (audience and panel selection )

If this did not leave us enough to debate on Sunday politics yesterday Mr Farage pointed out that in two years time Turkey will be in the EU therefore making 72million Turks free to enter the UK.

I'm not sure why the BBC would bus in "loonie lefties" or try to discredit him?  If anything, they seem  to be giving Mr Farage a disproportinately high amount of airtime in order to set out his views.  He has been on the show 14 times since 2009, more than any other politician. Surely they've had plenty of time to discredit him by now?

I recognised plenty of people in the audience, but would be interested to know what firm evidence there is that it was rigged?  Its a pretty serious allegation to be fair.

It could then be conversely argued, that the BBC are bussing in "Rabid Right Wingers"...
