We're 6th tonight, 2 points off the top with a game in hand (although Marine play tomorrow).

So we're not even in the play-off places?  Hurst and Scott OUT.

We would be had Guiseley not equalised against Ossett. Surely one of Hurst & Scott should have been at Guiseley to ensure that this injustice didn't occur.  >:(

Just back from the game, a good win for the lads. We played some good stuff tonight, none of that long ball we saw on sat. Created lots of chances, should have had a few but final ball let us down too often. I guess that will improve as the team builds an understanding. DD scored a good goal and showed some nice touches (got a lot more space than on sat and a lot more support from clarke and newsham. Cotton looked lively when he came on and suarez impressed. Frickley offered very little so our defence had an easy night apart from the last 5-10 mins but held firm. Good vocal turnout from boston too, great bit of banter with the 'dogger'  :)

Think we'll do well if we keep this up, and the squad continue to gel...

Would have been bullied out of that game 12 months ago. Liking what I'm seeing, some wonderful football at times but we like the fight.

Dangerously Optimistic

Good Night ;D

Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Just got back, what a great result and performance tonight. If we had more compsure and maybe a bit more luck could have had 3 or 4 tonight. Newsh and Camm both forcing good saves from the keeper second half and Suarez putting a free header straight into his arms when either side he would of scored. Not complaining though as we never looked like conceding, Frickley are a poor side who on that evidence will be in the relegation scrap. Played more like pre-season tonight with quick short passing and sliced them apart at will. For me Church was MOTM absolutely outstanding bossed the midfield. Good turnout from Boston circa 150 of us.

Seeing as their last home gate was 159 it gives you an idea of how many Pilgrims were there last night!

Fantastic team performance last night with many excellent performances, though a special mention should go to Jamie Clarke for the way he battled away, and his cross to set up the goal was outstanding. We created plenty of scoring chances and should have had two or three by half time. First Half Tom Evans could have sat in goal with a deckchair and pipe. Second half Frickley came out and gave it a go, but still didn't create much in the way of clear goal scoring opportunites. Credit must go to our defence who looked incredibly solid (Two consecutive clean sheets speaks for itself) and again we created more great scoring chances. Suarez had a good game when he came on and as did Dan Cotton who looks a great prospect. He loves running at people and taking defenders on, an old school winger. Just what you need when defending a 1-0 lead, so I thought the substitutions worked. All in all a great performance and well deserved three points, we played alot of decent football and you get the feeling there's more to come. Considering the Unibond have given us 4/6 away opening fixtures, 100% away record isn't a bad start!
Also the Farmer Dan/People on day release from Rauceby types that frequent the Spayne Road stand, weren't berating our young players from start to finish like on Saturday, which is an enjoyable part of away matches. Funny how these people are never seen at other grounds?  My theory is they don't like to get out of the county cos "It's full of strangers..." ("This is a local shop for local people"....)
Last ten minutes were nerve wracking due purely to the one goal cushion and the officials finding five minutes of injury time from somewhere. We are Boston United, we don't do things easily. Oh yes, Frickley's bar must have trebled their takings last night thanks to us lot.

Great update, gutted I couldn't make it due to work.
Love the moaners comments. Personally I think it's the fact that they are hen pecked at home, they are not able to express any view at home, so football is their release. They wouldn't go to an away game as their other half wouldn't let them.
