Nowt on the OS, probably no plug around...
-
O-O at half time according to the O/S
-
1-0. Suarez.
-
he's a goal machine ;) :D
-
so lincoln united next in the LSS on tuesday
whos the other semi ?
might have a chance of winning something :D
-
He (Suarez) could be the new Matt Carmichael ...
I also note that Newsham and Clarke don' t appear to have scored from open - play yet..

The man he giveth the praise with one hand and dishes the scorn with t'other
-
not sure comparing him to Matt Carmichael is praise in the first place. ;D

We're gonna piss this feckin' tin pot cup. ;)

Nice to see kirk playing for us finally :D, was he "pro" hes is supposed to be?
-
Just got in - the goal was coming. Suarez missed an easy chance just after coming on, then hit the post with a cracking volley and third time lucky, nodded past the keeper.
Bring on Lincoln United...
-
was there many boston fans there ;) ;D
-
i would say a good 80-90 out of a crowd of 150 or so

just got back from the game must say great signing evans looked vey composed and assured barring one blip near the end.the game itself was very poor first half nobody looked very good at all for either side all the hype about kirk i was expecting something special but was very dissapointed.after a half time roasting boston looked a lot better and when he finally took off the dissapointing duo of kirk and clarke the team finally looked like scoring and big bad betty suarez finally scored the winner after looking more dangerous in 25mins than clarke did the whole game.as for kirk you can see he is very skillfull indeed when he gets the ball but when he doesnt have it he was just stood moaning and flapping his arms all 5foot 6ins of him. sorry if people dont agree with me but im just saying it how i saw it tonight and yes i know its still pre season but just disappointed by overall performance i suppose. special mention to young chris baker who made his debut tonight another promising youth player through the ranks.

A decent performance against a well-organised Brigg Town.
Although goal chances were limited for both sides, the match was very competitive. This will be a good platform for United to progress playing together.
New Goalkeeper signing, Tom Evans was rarely threatened. His experience will provide stiff competition for Aaron Butcher.
The back four worked well together. Tonights decent performance from young Nick Jackson should provide him with a new contract. Canoville and Parker linked well together in the centre of defence whilst Chris Wood put his best performance in so far this pre-season.
Tyrone Kirk looked very useful on the wing although he was ball greedy on occasions. His pace and trickery will cause problems for any defence.
Trialist Matt Kennedy looked decent enough to be shown a contract.
Mark Camm as usual played well in a holding role whilst Danny Sleath looked promising.
The two front men of Newsham and Clarke still need some more games under their belt playing together. But the star of the show was super-sub Suarez who scored the winner and made it tough for the home defence with his flick ons and defensive headers late on. Overall - promising but not getting carried away yet ! And well done to the 100 or so United fans who made the journey North !
-
must agree with milo jacko and kennedy should get a contracts both fitted in really well but mom for me was lee canoville who hardly put a foot wrong all night and was outstanding as was camm
-
i presume jacko who several have comented about was the same player who played right back against town last saterday,i thought he had a good game then and ,early days yet,but mikel looking like a great signing :)

For me the change of formation helped things up front not particulary the personel.
Not many players can adapt to a 4-3-3 line up and things looked a lot more clinical
when the switch was made to a conventional 4-4-2 system. Fresh legs and a tiring
defence helped our cause to grab the victory in not that a convincing manner !!.
Still some more hard work to do yet :-\

Looks like last night was the first game in the competition
The other quarter finals are:
25/7 Stamford v Gainsboro
28/7 Spalding v Grantham
Provisional date for the other semi is 4/8 at Spalding or Grantham.

Well I hope its Spalding.Went to watch them last night against Boston Town, which Town won fairly easily in the end and played some outstanding stuff all on the floor.Spalding despite being a league higher look poor.
