I appreciate the players are paid to do a job but I hope there is a bit of consideration for the players running around in what is expected to be a very hot afternoon. The heat will have a bearing on both sides performances. Would you want to run around in about 29 degrees of heat. I may even look for a seat in the shade.
-
Same for both teams. I expect nothing less than 100% effort, albeit with a few drinks intervals.
-
I can't remember any boring games with Alty, so I can't see the heat changing that today. I'm hoping for a fiery bounce back victory!
-
We all want a win and as for the drink intervals, I’m with you on that. Chilled cider for me please.
-
2-0 up and deservedly so, both from open play, Platt and Knowles.
-
5-0 up now come on lads.
Chorley have been hammered 5-1 by Notts County.
-
Wow........ That's more like it! :)
-
Really pleased that Craig will have a good evening tonight, l have had a great afternoon.
So we can score in open play and our players have shown that they really give a shit.
-
I’m so pleased I was wrong about the game. Ahead of kick off I had it as an Alty win, but well played everyone on and off the pitch. What a seriously good performance and fully deserved result.
-
That’s answered some questions. Great day in the sun. Blew them away.
-
Great response to Saturday! Also hope this finally lifts that home hoodoo & we really kick on. Should be massive confidence booster.
-
What a result to kick on from for the rest of the season for a playoff push
-
A fantastic win, well done Craig and the team for bouncing back after Saturday. 8)
The pa system appears to have given up the ghost and already left the building at Spayne Road :'( Did anyone get the attendance figure?
-
Attendance was 1130 something🙂
-
Brilliant. Didn’t need penalties to score and every player gave 100%. Excellent. Well done everyone.
Just one question-why do we water the pitch at half time. It’s not as though the whole pitch gets water, just the middle, so why bother. Just curious , that’s all
-
Don't suppose we will here much from all those who wanted Craig Sacking and were sure that our last season at York Street would be a disaster. Mind you some of them don't go anyway so best if they stay off. UP THE PILGRIMS.
-
Come on all you lot saying Craig has to go. Made changes to the team and to the set up and it paid off big time. I was there on Saturday and we were dreadful however, everyone appeared to have forgotten we had only lost one game but were on track for a terrible last season at York Street. Well done Craig and staff and the players for carrying out his instructions to the letter. Somebody said on here that Ainge was over weight and pretty much useless which is stupid he is one of the best centre halves in the league. People know that I am not a fan of Abbott but he was outstanding today closing down and nullifying their mid field and slowly winning me over. Knowles absolutely terrified their back two and was outstanding in fact everyone of them gave it their all so I will not go on save to say with the other lads back we will be a force to be reckoned with.
UTP.

Come on you neg heads please come on and be negative please. They travelled a long way in the heat ref was biased to us. Come on say we played well and deserved the win. I know it will hurt.
-
The win should give the lads great confidence going into the next few games. Don't think Altrincham are the best side we have played but take nothing away from the team, we really outplayed them and took our chances well. Well done Craig good response to the loss on Saturday. UTP

Bloody rubbish, should have had 7 at least, Elliot’s got to go.
Got my head burnt while sitting in the sun, not happy!!!
-
Crikey! I know I said "vast improvement" was required after Gloucester, but a 5-0 win 48 hours later was not in my thoughts! And Platt scored twice??? He looked like he was playing with a wooden leg on Saturday before CE subbed him at half-time. I liked the fact CE gave Clare 5 minutes at the end. That will let the lad know he is wanted.
N. B. I would still put Greene in the starting XI.
-
After seeing the match on Saturday I was expecting Green to be in the starting xi as he was the pick of a poor bunch in that match but what do I know, that is why Craig is the manager and I am just a supporter, all the players picked today were on top form, well done to all the players and back room staff. See you on Saturday.
-
After Saturday's disaster, to put the season so far into perspective, we've lost only once and not been beaten by the teams currently 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. So not so bad really. Great performance today.
-
Fingers crossed this will be kick start to our season. Well done lads for a great result in stifling conditions.
-
I know alty were down a few players and pretty shit but where's that attacking performance been????
Suspect Hereford will be tougher despite their pasting at Chester
-
Oxo, it was me who said Ainge could do with shedding a stone as he cannot afford to carry any excess weight with his lack of turn of foot. At no point did I claim he was ‘useless’. Read what’s written. I’m sure once he gets to his fighting weight he will do a decent job. Until then he is at risk of being done for pace and costing us.
Let’s just see how it pan’s out.
-
Great stuff. This league never ceases to baffle me!
-
Ainge has been this weight all through his career, mainly spent in Conference North (or higher). He's fine...
-
Well.... all this positivity....I'm struggling with a bit
.
Surely ....
Ally were crap ?
The ref was a homer?
All the goals were lucky ?
Abbot is still rubbish despite a half decent game??
Let's get back to normality please
:)

I have done as you suggest and read again what you said. To sum up you said Ainge was a "poor signing" and was a "stone overweight" You say you have "seen milk turn quicker than him" and will "always be in trouble in a one on one" May I suggest that this very much sounds that you think he is pretty useless.
-
Really good win against a side who I would be surprised if they were up there (on yesterday's performance at least). Abbott was excellent and back to the player he was when he first came in. Just need to keep it up but helped that they were so open in midfield but we kept the ball down and played some really good football.
Very impressed with Knowles up front, his runs and telling players where he wanted the ball looked first class for this level and if gets the service will score plenty this season.
A word for the ref who i thought had a pretty good game (bar i think their number 9 should have gone in the clash with Ainge second half as it looked like he hit him but it was on the ref's wrong side but not the assistant who looked too scared to say anything).
All in all, a lot more positive than 48 hours ago and roll on a nice local one for me in Hereford
-
OK Oxo, just for you. Ainge is like 541t off a shovel and will never get done for pace Signing of the summer for us.
It would seem no one can have a opinion that differs from your own. I wouldn’t want to upset you by suggesting that there can be no other view but yours.
I think I did mention he was strong in the air. Though I notice you choose to omit that from your ‘useless’ Tag.
Let’s have this discussion again around Feb/March and see who is right. Do you prefer custard or cream with your humble pie ?

Where was your Boston united woolly hat.
-
What an excellent victory. I had a few quibbles but overall brilliant.
All this nonsense about our central defence. Best we've had for a while.
Pleased also that Oxo acknowleged Brad had a very good game.
For what its worth, I think we always need to play three in midfield,
and when we only play two they are always overstretched.
I thought the 3 that played their on Monday in that heat were
outstanding. I've not seen Green play so cannot comment on whether
he would be better than any of those.
I said a few games ago it would take up to 10 games for this side to gel,
and if they continue like they did on Monday we will have a very good
season. Consistency is key in this league.
Lets keep positive and this team can get us to the play offs.
-
The way Green left the dug out on Monday after our final sub suggests to me he won’t be here for too much longer.
-
Brilliant result from yesterday's XI.

Ooh heck, didn't want to fall out I thought if anyone posted on here it was open for discussion, if not it is a waste of time. If you now agree that he is indeed a good signing say so and by the way you did not mention anything about his strength in the air, however, your closing remark clearly says he will still be as poor as you say he is come the end of the season, please don't take offence but I think you are wrong, but I will not comment on anything you may put on here in the future. UTP.

Third twin, it’s not about him not being the swiftest the guy is too slow and will cost us this season. Ok he he is strong in the air but on the deck he is putting extra pressure on the rest of the back line who are having to cover for this, when they can. The guy should be shedding the pounds. He knows he struggles for pace so needs to be in peak condition to compensate for this.
We won’t fall out about it. We all have opinions on the game. Isn’t that what makes Football the game we love.
I would love it if I’m wrong about the guy as this would mean we are in for a decent season. I can see this League being tight and Clubs being ruthless. ( 2 Managers gone already). Saturday was a great result and shows what this team is capable of, however it was on the back a poor performance on Saturday.
-
It's so childish on here , people trying to appear so polite but determined to trash what someone else has said and have the last say as if it makes their point more valid.
-
Great game. Great performance. Agree with previous post about childish comments
-
Not much point in criticizing the players for childish behaviour in the melee v Leamington if we do the same here.
-
The only downside on Saturday is that I worry Greeny will walk if he does not get played. That would be a loss as that creativity and eye for a chanelled pass is very much needed when pace players like Thewliss are back.
