league cup
« on: August 27, 2010, 07:52:11 AM »
Forgive my ignorance but is there some kind of Blue Square Cup which the teams of all 3 divisions compete for?
Or is the Bob Lord Trophy still going just for the top league and will probably be won again be Maidstone, Barnet or Enfield?
Anyroad, if the former, there is the possibility of being drawn against "moneybags" from the Broadfield Stadium (whose money I'm not sure). Should jock and his little brother ever return with a visiting side what kind of reception is he likely to get?

It's on an indefinite hiatus apparently after previous sponsors Setanta went bust. See:

Which is a bit of a shame.

Don't think that question needs answering.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Well it shouldn't do.
I'd like to think that 100% of the current forum users would turn around as he approached the away bench, drop their trousers and bare their arses at him. But it took quite some time after the events until all the supporters of him disappeared off the net. Of course we on here are only a small proportion of our current 1600 crowds and they'll no doubt still be some out there ready to cheer their messiah.

If a league cup is played this season and we draw " money bags " if it is in the latter rounds what are the chances of the "messiah " still being there LP ?

I believe that the competition will return next season as part of the Conference's sponsorship deal with Premier Sports.

In any case, we might yet draw Crawley in the FA Cup or Trophy, although I think the early rounds are regionalised.

I'll be happy to play them in the Trophy Final.
