Title: Well that gesture was appreciated wasn't it?

You'd think players would want to hold onto awards to look back on when their careers have finished...........then again, it tends to sum up the throw away culture of the club at the time.

I wouldn't single us out.

England Caps, Match worn shirts, MOTD goal of the month awards, a Leicester Lantern for POTS, contracts and everything are up.

Can't wait for the hand written tippexed BUFC contract to go up, or do the police still have it? ;)

Julian must be broke. Still, very annoying and insulting to the fans that voted for him that season. The award must have meant zero to him then and now. Sums the current game up I suppose.

Those contracts and severance agreements show his home address if you zoom in on them. If you put the postcodes into Google Street View they don't come back as addresses where the occupants look broke.

Its a shame its come to that if he is selling his memorabilia because he's skint.......

How though can you squander the kind of money he was on for a good decade?

Unlike us NF, youths of recent years were not taught to look to their futures, so it seems that any money that came their way was squandered, and as the saying goes "you reap what you sow"  Michael Carroll is a prime example, but more and more of the 70s/80s footballers seem to be hitting hard times and selling their momentos.   So sad.

But he's not an 80's/90's footballer, he had a number of season earning a very good weekly wage in the Premiership.

At a guess he's have earned somewhere between £5-£12,000 p/w at his peak.

How can you fall on hard times with that sort of income?

I've no sympathy at all, even back in the 70's a 1st division player was earning around x3 what the working man was earning.......

That was the rumour when he was with us, so it wouldn't surprise me.

I wonder who pocketed the £100k Boston received when JJ was sold to Darlington (just after Mr Sotnick became CEO at Darlington)?  Surely an obvious conflict of interest?    :-*

Are we sure that's JJ's ebay account, if it is he's a heavy ebayer!

Looking at some of his recent photos I would say he has put a bit of weight on ;D

Joachim has now joined Shepshed Dynamo as a player but will help out with the coaching.
