Also, given that a lot of the players we signed over the summer had things to prove, I suspect they have been told if, in January, a good offer comes in from a side higher up the pyramid then the club won't stand in their way.
Quite right too I think - obviously in the short term we'd lose a good player or two, but we'd get some money and the reputation as a team where players can better themselves at, which should help us keep attracting players in the long run.
