The B-Ark / Re: How Poor Can Day Get.

I'll get shot down for saying this but those causing trouble today as very much not regulars following us away. The typical away crowd cause no trouble at all.

No, the typical regulars are mostly the BUSA bus lot and regular exiles and 99.999999% of the time have no interest in bother, although you sometimes see the odd isolated incident (eg the issue one had with that Guiseley steward!).

The big games attract the Drinking On Trains lot with no real affinity to the club. You know who they are because you don't recognise them! And while I'm not suggesting for a second new fans aren't welcome, there will always be some newbies who just come for the big games and stand there barely watching the game just to have it out with the home fans. It's a fact of life and, even with arrests and banning orders, will never change. It'll happen again the next time we have a big game, and the time after that, and the time after that...

Remember the "Boston and bugle" flag some lads got made for the Rochdale games? Anyone seen them or it since? Nope...

Yep, agreed. The next big game they'll be there but you won't catch them at Southport or Chorley over the next couple of weeks!

On the pitch it was awful. First-half incredibly bad. Lots of talk of Cully getting his own men in, a majority of the team are his now, are any of them actually any good? Second-half maybe marginally better but even against ten we never had a shot on target until virtually the last kick of the game. We need a goalscorer but then until very recently we had the league's top goalscorer in our starting XI! New lad did look good and hopefully he becomes a good player for us having been what looks like a bit of a NLN journeyman.

On another point and it's not massively relevant immediately; it does look like Cully is signing players based more around his area. The young loan lads seem to be from our usual haunts (Hull & Sheff Utd) but permanent signings seem to be more southern based so looking ahead to next season (if we're still at this level!) I don't think we'll be training in Donny too much longer.

Will King's Lynn play in their all green away kit to support "Shelter’s NoHomeKit campaign" - raising funds and awareness of homelessness this festive period?  No mention of their participation on their website.

They will. Mr Cleeve has Tweeted about it!

Agree. My expectations are incredibly low but would a mass clearout happen in Jan? It's ok getting shot of loads of players but we need replacements. Bar McLintock none of our incomings have set the world alight and we seem to be in this huge cycle of one-month work experience loan signings. Do we really want more of those in Jan?

I really don't believe we'll go down, I don't actually think we'll be close to going down, there are some horrendous sides in this league but I think we'll finish 13th or 14th which would be very underwhelming.

I think we stick with IC until next season unless we do keep on getting pumped and then we might need to think about a change. I think when he took over we thought we'd be in a much better position than we are by now.

I'd be wanting to build a side starting from the base of Pearson if he has enough legs to go again, Scott Pollock, Crawford, Shiels if he can pick up where he left off, and McLintock. Dewhurst too if he'd ever come back. I would not extend that list at the present moment.

I'd agree with this. Pollock I can't imagine will be here next season. I'd be surprised if he's still here in a months time.

The one thing I would say is I think we all do have BUFC blinkers on a little when discussing players. If we look at our best players last season I'm sure most would agree; Seriki, Dewhurst, Elliott and Byrne.

Of those this season the one at the highest level is Seriki but even he is just a bench warmer for Rochdale, he gets a few minutes some weeks and other weeks is just an unused sub. They're also down in 19th in League Two. Dewhurst seems to have been dropped by Scunny recently bottom of the NL. Elliott struggled for game time at Boreham Wood and has been shipped out to Gateshead. Byrne still at this level and by all accounts hardly pulled up any trees.

I suspect we'll lose Pollock but he'll only go to a NL side and likely not stand out.

All those players stood out for us last season but based on this season it wouldn't be a massive shock if any came back as it doesn't really seem to be working out for them slightly higher up the ladder despite how good they looked for us!
