Pa Sulay Njie
« on: January 13, 2014, 03:39:58 PM »
It looks as though Pa Sulay Njie has already left the club, which means the 54 minutes he played at Hednesford will be the total sum of his United career. On Saturday's evidence, it's probably for the best.

This got me thinking: are there any players lurking in the dusty annals of Boston’s history who have contributed even less than Njie's 54 minutes? (I’m ruling out players like Michael Proctor and Derek Lilley, who never actually played, and also triallists who played in non-competitive friendlies)

Ah yes, forgot all about him! To be honest, I think we've all tried to put the entire Drury shambles to the backs of our minds...

Any raise on 45 minutes?

Did Gary Brabin play the whole game in his 1 appearance?

There must be ex-reserves and youth teamers who came on as sub once or twice, and not racking up many minutes.

Rob Wesley?

Was that the second trip that season? Yes, I was there, although I don't remember him oddly enough!

Yes - second trip that season. I never went as I couldn't find my passport.

I'll be back there again in March! I'm actually a bit gutted as it looks like they're going down. I'm going to spend next season feeling a tad bereft. Perhaps we could arrange a friendly on Diego Garcia?

How many minutes did Tom Hopper's one appearance last?

EDIT: I'll answer my own question (with a bit of help from google) - 13 minutes. He was a 77th minute replacement for SWD.

There was a chappie in the 07-08 season who was signed, came on as a sub, made no impact and I don't think played again. Might have been against Guiseley?

Was a foreign name.

You're quite correct.

David De Oliveira - came on as an 80th minute sub. Never seen again.

So we're down to ten minutes in a Boston shirt. At this rate, Pa Sulay is starting to resemble Chris Cook!
