The B-Ark / Sheffield Pilgrims

This is a bit of a niche post but my pal Matt suggested I put it up in case anyone else is interested.

Me and him are both BUFC fans based in Sheffield who didn't get tickets for the game. We are off to watch it in the Broomhill Tavern - they have TNT and told me "if it is football and it is on, we will have it on". I can't see that there is any other English football on at the same time so am assuming they will be showing it..

The pub's Abbeydale Moonshine and Deception is pretty good if you like real ale

We had a conversation on Saturday about Marc Newsham is playing now. I see last night he was scoring for Maltby Main at Hallam FC in the Northern Counties East League.

I'm on 155, with 135 of those watching BUFC teams. Like others I'm hoping for South Shields and Warrington this season...

Whilst I have not seen a news item on the club site, it is down in the fixtures there for November 4th, something confirmed on the Moors website. Let's hope they are having less rain in County Durham than we are in Sheffield, otherwise it might get called off again...

To be honest I didn't think Kiddy were that great when we played them in March. Better than us but they had a lot of the ball but never particularly looked like scoring. Given what they have done since, maybe we were better than I thought that day...

If I had to pick just one player who kept us up, I would choose the keeper. I hope he signs!

Clearly I would like him to stay but perhaps more realistically Hull (and indeed other clubs) appreciate how he has done here and send us similar youngsters, a bit like Sunderland used to a few years back

In the second half we were standing close enough to the bench to listen out for any clues re names of trialists, but Paul Cox seemed to refer to everyone as "son".
But in the first half (without too many trialists on the pitch) we looked pretty decent. My pal commented that the ball was getting moved round much quicker than last pre-season

Well I did feel a bit guilty about telling you that so i'm glad you got a match ticket!

Oh Pete it would have been about £14 cheaper to get a day return Nottingham to Sheffield and then another one Sheffield to York and you could have travelled on any train!

Sorry by posting this I realise I might have reduced the price you can get even further...

Yes I know a York fan who thinks they lost their 2020 playoff to Alty in part because they had a long gap between competitive games. Admittedly that was four months as opposed to two weeks but I can see how even a fortnight would be too long a break.

As for having another midweek game to allow an extra weekend for the playoffs, I don't know but I always assumed we had so few midweek games this season was because spaces were deliberately left for any Covid-related postponements...

Well that's odd. Whilst he is named on the Bournemouth website as a physiotherapist, his name does not seem to be on the HCPC register, which you have to be if you are a qualified physiotherapist.

He might be using another name on there I suppose but if he is not and is still calling himself a physiotherapist then he is committing a criminal offence.

He seemed like a nice lad when he played for us so I won't dob him in yet...

Comprehensive win, three well-taken goals and a deflection and to be honest it was probably over after the second goal.
And well done to the ref, I thought he might not give the second yellow as it meant sending another player off but he did not bottle it.
