Lets hope the managements harsh but true words after last Saturday's game at Kendal have hit home.

The play offs should be very achievable, the title has almost certainly gone, but I for one wouldn't be too upset if we miss out this season on promotion. I think the team is still growing, perhaps another season to mature might be best before promotion because it'd be a shame to go up and struggle and see the support dwindle, much better to go up prepared for the higher league.

Danny's a good lad who deserves his bit of glory, I spoke with him one night in town when he was at The Cod and he's a good level headed lad.

Looking at most of the slag heaps and local parks Utd play on these days Nobby should coast it.

The Utd pitch looks the best its ever looked since Nobby started looking after it.

But if BUFC is loosing £250k p/a at present how are they going to fund a move to a new ground without outside investment? And if thats the case would the ground ever be the clubs? Grants won't be that substantial as we're outside the league, no doubt we'll get something off the football foundation but I can't see how a site can be bought and developed without outside help.

Thanks for the sensible response there Woadie. :)

Its not negativity, its looking beyond the hyperbole and easy cop out excuses.

Do you not worry that we seem seem to struggle to put away the 'big' teams though?

Thats points dropped against Kendal and BPA over the last few weeks, plus a home defeat to Retford. If you want to win a league or be in contention you have to beat those around you. Its all very well dominating games being unlucky or on the wrong end of a poor decision but the fact is we are making a habit of losing to our rivals.

I still think the team lacks something, I can't pinpoint it as I've not seen enough of the side this season but I'm worried what has been a season of genuine progress might end up with us being the bridesmaids come May.

I really do think its short term thinking to build anything less than a Conference ready ground with a minimum 1000 seats and standing for 3-4000 as a minimum.

If you think small you end up being small. Don't compare us to the likes of Nantwich, we're only in the same league as them because of crooks, the reality is we're a club 5 or 6 times bigger than them.

We're a Conference size club capable of attracting 2000 people through the gates if we get up there and as was proved during our time in the league 6000 on exceptional days.

I remember going to Hednesford on that Monday at the end of our 1st conference season and the ground was uncovered on 2 sides, having been back since its now covered on all 4 sides.......its that kind of facility we should aim for, not something that will stop you getting promotion like Natwich have.

Sounds like it..... :-\

A bit like Northwich, with nothing at either end and just a big terrace and a main stand.

Would finance ever be in place to do anything with both ends? Or even 1?

All the atmosphere of a morgue.

Take us and FCUM out of this shitty little parochial league and you are left with very little crowd wise.

The sooner H&S get us promoted the better, I'm fed up of playing pub and village teams from the North West.

We win 10-0 and there's barely a post the day after the game?

FWIW well done to the team and management on a really professional job yesterday, and without being patronizing well done to Durham who did their very best to play football at all times despite being hopelessly out of their depth, I hope fortune smiles on them soon.

At the end of the day I think Cookie is finally realizing that when it comes down to it there's very few people will actually go out of their way to support the club like this.
I know when we were on the BUSA committee there were plenty of people happy to tell us what we should be doing, when it was pointed out a few extra hands would make a difference they suddenly shut up.
Plus at times it came over that when you were trying to help the club some people took the hump and felt you were interfering so when we finished with BUSA we decided not to get involved at all and leave it to those who we felt the club wanted to help them.

Good luck Cookie but I expected this response. :-\

Creepy lost to lower league opposition last night in the Trophy (where have we seen that before) and it looks like McFraud wrote the official match report for the Creepy site.

"Crawley Town Football Club have every right to be seething this evening after match referee Stuart Burt, gave Chelmsford City a late, contraversial penalty that no one else in the ground, including a vocal home support, made any appeal for.

The match referee, Mr Stuart Burt who appeared to favour the home side throughout the match, gave the spot kick with just over fifteen minutes left to play."

I bet McFraud and his mates are bombarding the message boards tonight!!!!!

Like the majority have £1000 to spare Patrick.

Most of our fans have much more pressing needs than spending that kind of money on the football club.
