Geoff Barrowcliffe 1931-2009
Boston United have been informed of the death of former player Geoff Barrowcliffe, who has sadly passed away at the age of 77.

Mr Barrowcliffe died on Saturday. The Ilkeston-born player appeared more than 50 times for the Pilgrims between 1966-1967 and 1968-1969.

He had joined the Pilgrims after making 475 Football League appearances for Derby County and his other former clubs included Ilkeston Town, Heanor Town, Moor Green Colliery, Kimberley Town and Long Eaton United.

He also managed Kimberley Town and Radford.

Boston United would like to pass on their condolences to Mr Barrowcliffe’s family at this sad time.

Geoff Barrowcliffe,  Now here was a legend, what a player, always gave 100% in every game he played in, If I remember correctly, he came to Boston FC from Derby County, I cannot remember wether he came to BUFC, before or after we beat Derby County  6-1 away in the FA cup,     Rest in Peace Geoff,  you will be remembered by many BUFC fans.

He was in the first Utd teams I saw c1966, so have very happy memories of him. As Derby is my other team, he fitted the mould for me!
