Taken from the Tadcaster Albion website :
Help Required To Tidy Up The Clubhouse & Ground
We have been hit be devastating floods yet again.
We need help and assistance to get the clubhouse & ground cleared and ready for the biggest game in the club’s history.
The clear up operation is being co-ordinated by Kevin Derry.
If you can offer any help please get in touch, his mobile number is 07836712708.
We also need volunteer stewards who can help with car park duties, turnstile, raffle, PA announcing & general stewarding for the Boston Utd game.

So apart from needing car park stewards, turnstile operators, raffle sellers, a Tannoy man, crowd stewards, some volunteers to remove fish from the pitch and a layer of mud from the clubhouse , everything is all set for us to be playing our FA Cup fixture next Saturday.
I know we took stewards to Eastwood , looks like they will be needed again !

From Twitter, less than 25% of the pitch at Tadcaster is now flooded, but they're concerned about any effluent that may have been left behind by the water.
If they're that worried about s**t on the pitch then it's just as well we didn't play there when Tommy Taylor was in charge.

Switch it ! (health and safety )

Can anyone confirm if the match will be played at Tadcaster on Saturday, and does anyone know a cut off point during this week to which it will say "On" at Tadcaester or " Off"

3pm Saturday is the cut off

Should be switched to York St def I feel ..
Dave could offer them all seating in York St and Fantasy at say £7.50 .
Staging a match at a venue with remains of effluent and excretia not a pleasant thought ..
-
So what if it is under 6 feet of water arnt we allowed 7 "Subs" in the F A cup this year ???
-
I went to have a look at the Tadcaster Albion ground today, all the water has gone, and sun was out and drying the ground. The staff and helpers have done a great job there.
-
This happens to Taddy at least twice a year, they always work hard to get games underway once the water has subsided.
Good friendly club, just hope its their last match in this years FA Cup.

It'll be like having a game on Skeggy beach at low tide :dan
-
Naaah it will not be as bad as that.
Seriously though I do not think there has been a problem with effluent. The tweet re effleunt from the rivers was after all made by one of our supporters not one of theirs.

Sad news is I would have gone to Taddy on Saturday but because my wife has arranged a visit to some of her family for the day I can't make. But the good news is I have managed to snatch a few hours of pleasure out of a day of disappointment, and it's partly thanks to Grimity. Yes, my trip is to Chester who, as I'm sure you are aware, have a home tie in the cup to Halifax. One would expect it to be a good game. So from the effluent at Taddy to the affluence at Chester (would rather have gone to Taddy though).

The FA are billing this as a potential giant killing http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/News/2012/Oct/tadcaster-boston-preview-051012.aspx
Have they not seen our cup record? I'd have Tadcaster down as favourites ;)

Almost agree with LPRA. I don't think we should take this one as a done deal. Taddy have nothing to lose by going all out for a win and I don't think they will have much respect for our tactics, whatever they will be, or strict positional play. If I was there boss I would tell the players to give it everything they have and enjoy the day. Our cup runs lately have not always been what we expected, more of an embarrasment actually (think I may have spelt embarrasment wrong but can't be bothered to check it, got to walk mutley ).

There's a pitch inspection at 9am tomorrow. This is due to "a slight puddle on the edge of the pitch at the car park end" which is small but "the ground is saturated & it can't be forked away".
Fingers crossed...

Looks like they expect it to be on

Yes looks promising, nice and sunny as well, it will be on so long as the ref is not a dick

Well done Boston, although why do you make such hard work of it. I managed to get to the Chester/Halifax game so heres my report, particularly relevant as we play Halifax next week. 3pm ref started the game, 3.01pm about 15 Halifax followers (notice the absence of the word supporters ) jumped the low wall along the side of the pitch in the corner, ran about 10 yards and attacked Chester supporters. Acouple of stewards intervened and somehow got them back into their area. 5 mins later 2 Policemen arrived and there was no more trouble from Halifax in that corner. No one arrested or ejected from ground. 10 mins later 2 more Halifax followers sitting amongst Chester fans started fighting with Chester fans. Stewards stepped in and trouble makers were dealt with very severely, they were made to sit with proper Halifax fans. More Police arrived, no more trouble. Later in first half both teams down to 10 players because wrestling together on pitch. Shortly after a Halifax player lunged two footed through the air and nearly took both the legs off a Chester player. Ref did the manly thing and gave a yellow card, offending player should have gone to prison for that tackle and the ref should never be allowed to be in charge of a game ever again. No more mentionable events for the rest of the game other than their T bags provided a crap cup of tea.
To summarise - Chester were not the same team that played Boston a few weeks ago, did not pass the ball as well. Halifax very physical both on and off the pitch. Chester used 2 subs before half time and the third in the second half. Game was exciting and benefited from two of the best goals I expect to see this season. If Halifax play the same way against us next week we are likely to have injuries and I predict they will win.
Glad I went, a bloody good afternoon. Attendance was 2613 with around 100 to 150 Halifax followers.
Ps. Halifax liked using both wings so our left and right backs will need to be quick
