Reserves 1-0 Barrowby United

Lincolnshire League

Report by Colin Woodcock

Barrowby United faced a daunting task on their first visit to York Street, knowing that United's second string had overwhelmed all of their previous opponents to date. On paper, another goal glut appeared on the cards but at the end of the day, it was a last minute Andy KIWOMYA penalty that finally secured all three points for United. The match itself proved one of those occasions when the ball simply wouldn't go in the net as United squandered numerous chances and the visiting keeper had one of the nights when he stopped everything in a very one-sided affair.

Four minutes from time United were denied what appeared a blatant penalty when Mark Melsom was brought down in the box but the referee was having none of it. However a rash challenge on Andy Kiwomya inside the box in the final minute saw the latter get up to confidently slot home the resultant penalty to give United the points.
